Brilliant interview Trevor was a great player in his time at Leigh and what a top fella it was a great move by Alex Murphy to get Trevor over to Leigh and paid off big style that season it was a has usual another top murph signing to get such a experienced Aussie All the best to Trevor and his family for Xmas and 2015 hope his lad Jack goes all the way and gets full Aussie honours in years to come..

Like I said production 'licence' if anyone wants to argue with that then apply for my job I will gladly relinquish it for you.

Ah...a bit of hyperbole isn't unusual. Great to have an interview with the bloke for sure and perfectly natural to bring up FFMM with a fellow player from Down Under and get his take on it. It is odd though that there seems to be a need to wheel out an ex-player, legend or not, to publicly endorse a signing (did he realise it would be the feature of a press release?). Surely, it cannot betray any feeling of insecurity on the part of the BOM that they need to defend their investment? I've only noted one Leigh fan "the Watcher" who seems to think this was not a really great signing. Non-Leigh fans will not give two hoots about what Mr Cogger says so I am not really sure what it's trying to achieve. But from a heritage point of view, great to hear from a player who is fondly remembered, albeit one a bit before my time.

Not arguing with your opinion Fred - just expressing mine as well. After all, who's to say who is right and who is wrong, eh?

I for one found Trevors comments interesting,I was living overseas when he played for Leigh and can't comment on his legendary status one way or the other but see no harm at all in calling a rugby legend as his overall playing record probably justifies it.
Some people on here are like kids and love to pick holes in everything I'm sure they write the letters in the Journal which is a weekly moan fest, the guided bus route is happening ,get over it!!!!!!

No problem with him being termed a 'rugby legend', but not a Leigh one. The likes of Tony Iro and Ian Schubert could arguably be called rugby legends, but their stints at Leigh didn't justify them becoming Leigh legends - all in my opinion of course

As a fine a player Trevor was for us in the second division I would struggle to recall his defining moment in a Leigh shirt. Probably being carried off at Keighley suffering from mild hyperthermia if I am honest.

How do we distinguish the real Leigh legends like Murphy, Ledgard, Woods and Trevor Allan's of the world from all the legends who ever pulled on a Leigh shirt once?

I could call any player who has represented Leigh a 'Leigh Legend' because it's strictly a matter of opinion.

So I agree with everyone. Except if you're passing your opinion off as fact, then I very much do not agree.

Oh well in that case Michael I am now unsure about the other posts but' I will have to give this thread some serious thought as the implications are becoming mindblowing.

Absolutely no problem with anyone expressing an opinion, providing that I also am allowed to express one.
