At 5pm on Saturday Paul will be having a drink with the thought of maybe getting Saints, Wire or Wigan at home. I am going to put money on it.
Come On You Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeigh.

| Prefer us to win on Saturday then get a easy draw in the next round - followed by Wigan at home the round after.
We need a pay day after all to help pay the bills (maybe with the SL club letting us keep all gate money)

| I think this is worth discussing to be honest, don't know how you can just dismiss it. I am a supporter of paul rowley, and feel that purtill would be a great addition to the staff. The problem lies in who would do which role? If purtill were to be brought in as head coach, i feel that that would be unfair in a huge way towards paul, he deserves his crack at this more than anybody else at the club. But, at the same time, if purtill were to be brought in as a general manager, would paul feel as if purtill had been fast-tracked to the top? Would the general manager role have an effect on the job that paul is currently doing? I'd imagine rowley would still pick the team etc. but what im trying to say is, would the general manager be classed as one of pauls superiors, and be able to sort of pull rank? All in all, i think we should stick with what we have. Save ourselves another wage, give paul at least a year of his contract with this team he has managed to cobble together, and see how we go, then if things are looking bad, maybe look at a coaching staff reconfiguration.

Still waiting for how you know how I support the team...'"
Obviously Jonny being a season ticket holder for numerous seasons, being a touchdown member, paying into LISA and standing in Yorkshire last Thursday night with a few other leythers applauding the team off after they got beaten shows you don't support the team.....!

| I totally agree. I don't think people realise how quickly this team has been knocked together. We were pretty lucky to keep the core of the squad to a certain extent, but theres a lot of new faces, it's gonna take a while!

THANKYOU,
Exactly the kind of discussion I was hoping to start.
My view is that it worked with Rowley, Millward and Jukes last year, so why not with Purtill?

| I don't know to be honest, obviously keiran has a history at leigh, i think he still lives here? But what would worry me would be if a power struggle were to arise. Purtill has been a number 2 now for several world class coaches, at one of the biggest rugby clubs in the world. Is he going to want to come to Leigh and not be top dog? But at the same time, it could end up to be a case of beggars can't be choosers, there are a few good coaches out there at the minute without a job, does he want to be another one? I think he could definately offer us something, its just difficult to see where he would fit in without treading on the current set-up's toes.

| Kieron met with Leigh during the off-season when the recruitement for Ian Millward's replacement started. I believe he still has a soft spot for Leigh, but it was a case of his heart saying yes, his head saying no

I didn't say anything about Paul Rowley at all, but we are still waiting for a VISA for a manager are we not?
Transfer my energy to supporting him and the team?
You moron, you don't know me or how I support the team.'"
how do you know "he's a really good coach" ?

'one of the best young coaches in the game' - Paul Anderson, Huddersfield Assistant Manager
"I believe he is an outstanding coach and can see why Saints want him back." - Huddersfield Managing Direrctor Richard Thewlis
“He’s a very experienced assistant coach and he has high aspirations. He’s very highly regarded by the players and staff at the clubs he’s coached at and we’re really looking forward to getting him on board to lead the Knights." - Steve McNamara
"The people that I've been fortunate to work with at the Giants, firstly Jon Sharp and Kieron Purtill, have had an influence on my path as a coach" - Jon Sharp
Just a few bits i've found. Also, to be assistant manager at last years Grand Finalists and be the England Knights coach I reckon he's probably good enough for Leigh.

Oh and I actually agree that appointing Paul Rowley was the best decision, but how do we know if he's a really good coach?
