you can try and sell this club as much as you like,but its going nowhere if the people of leigh believe this league is just a prep school for SLE players and believe me thats how i feel after the last couple of days and i dont like it.

Your right j.c. and so is Frank. Maybe the Leigh carnival that gets a fair few people down could be a place for the club to show that it is or can be a massive part of the Leigh and district community. If all the die hards gathered for a walk around our area that would be an eye opener. 1500 fans shouting and singing in the streets with the flags and banners like the old community marches that were posted on here a bit ago would make locals sit up and listen. Bring back the communitry spirit that the tories quashed. Bring back that old mining and spinning mill comunity spirit. Whose nicked my glass of red wine?

if we had that kind of spunk in us this town we would'nt have been under wigans foot for the past 36 years...its never going to happen mate.

So 1200 v Keighley 1600 v Dewsbury is evidence of that. Shouldn't you be off defending messrs Lewis and Wood, plenty other messageboards to go at at the moment.



Don't worry it will be the same as any other time the RFL is deemed to have screwed non SL clubs over, we'll all get bored and lose interest soon enough

The day after our win at Wembley( 15 5 71 )if anyone has forgotten I was stood on Leigh Rd outside the what was then the Eagle and Child.

A noisy group emerged from Twist lane with a banner reading Leigh supporters Navigation St branch headed by the late Franny Costello. What a day it was impossible to drive through Leigh for a couple of hours..

Some thing never change then ..... although these days it's due to roadworks, road closures and diversions?!

Personally i think that is a good idea, if we could make it work, apart from people on this MB don't know how we could let other Leythers know though.

i know quite a few casuals / lapsed speccies who wont go, because , as happened at sundays game against dewsbury, they dont want to queue for their ticket for 20 odd minutes.

as one lad i know pointed out on sunday, who doesn't go that often, its very hard for the staff to hear the speccies requirements through the glass, and just causes it to slow down.


not just a problem at lsv though, as the salford select few also had the same problem on sunday at wrexham, sad fact , the combined gate was just over 4000 for the two games.

Utter bollox , they just dont have the balls to say that they cant be bothered and would rather stay in the pub and get ed

Unfortunatley todays ' blame ' culture dictataes they have to have an excuse that absolves them from being lazy gets , you watch , when they put pay on the gate signs up , it will be the price of the beer and pies , they will always find an excuse

The so called ' lapsed/ex ' fan will never return , they are gone , too lazy to go anywhere any more , they are ' armchair fans ' , the future for any club outside SL is the juniors , they still have the energy to move

gotta agree Steve if people bothered turning up at 15 minutes to KO instead of 5 there may not be any queues.
