| Let's get the easier bit out of the way whilst we await unfoldings at Bladdersveldt.
Rochdale could have rendered this post unnecessary by pulling off an unlikely home win agin York. They made a bl00dy good fist of it before capitulating 18-24.
A further reminder of your punts:
Pubbers 16-28
Evvers 8-34
Chayders 10-28
The Don 8-24
Tommers 12-24
Chazzer 18-24
Vanners 14-28
Zools 10-24
Bonkers 10-26
All predicted that East Pennine victory but it's that black/red nosed villain who extends his lead at the Big Top of the main WPL. "Charlie hurt we."
Five apiece to the others.
Someone once defined repartee "as what you wish you'd said", Bongser, as well as editing the scores, will adjust a couple of detective's names in the below copy and paste from last week's scores.
STANDINGS:
Charley Farley (Ronnie Corbett) 1,002 Jjj
Piggy Malone (Ronnie Barker) 881 jj
Donners 816 JJJjj (Still Three Dragons)
Pubbers 801 Jjj (Ashes Ruling)
EVVO 801 JJjj (high scoring scheme and yet ties three weeks on the trot!)
Zools 739 JJjj
Vanners 733 Jjj
Chayders 610 Jjj
Tommers 564 Jjj
As it stands, fortunes are somewhat different in The Cup Challenge!!

| CUP CHALLENGE ROUND C ROUND UP
Aaaahh Bisto! The romance of the cup, eh? “But not for Leigh,” to misquote Chet Baker.
Brief reminder of the standings. EVVO led us into this round with a score of 285. Bongser playing Atlas for the comp with 231.
A Round of "three halves" this one so, without further ado, we move to the Friday ménage a trois. First up was HFC who won by 16 points.
Quote: three halves " Ground made ‘Tommers, but it might be time to bring your A game of last season out from under the patio
So still leading into Part the Third (Sunday) is “A Gamer” with 103 whilst the Atlas baton has been slipped to Charlie. It should be noted that Bongser is typing before the weekend’s last two ties (to avoid another late night) so he doesn’t know whether there will be a twist.
Despite losing the second 40, The Wire clung on to beat The Pahs. Huzzay!
Correctly judged by all bar Atomic. VL top scored with 24. The Round lead has changed hands to those of EVVO as we await the hooter in the last tie (Saints up by 6 as B&B types).
What Bongser knows he can correctly type is that all of us have gone for a Saints win. Should The Giants recover and win, however, there would be many, many, many time capsule points up the flue.
.
.
.
.
.
A certain Mr Vegas will be happy that all here have gained at least 5 points. The two Trotters were closest on the margin on this one. Wanderer, we may have both our minds on a non RL matter. Maybe a sympathetic telepathy came into play but it is curious that Bongser unwittingly aped five of your eight preds this week. He would have been better simply cribbing the lot as he would have scored more!
Joint Round winners, JUST edging out Atomic, are EVVO & Vanners with 127 apiece. They get an extra 25 each. Bravi.
Charlie with 101 just avoided Room 101 and evaded the week’s Atlas position. Be strong Zools!
SCORES ON THE DOORS
Evvo 437
Vanners 425
Pubbers 388
Chayders 382
Donners 376
Tommers 367
Chazzers 364
Zools 358
Bongser 344
So your host is still Klingoning to "The Trail" by dental plate and false nails. In this instance he wishes both sets to fall out that he might “plummet upward”.

| On the subject of the challenge cup, was a certain James Green giving a decent impression of being a tough, rough rugby league forward the same big useless wet lettuce called James Green that played in a few games for Leigh in our super league season or has he just got the same name?

| CL, good evening. Are we to assume that your question was rhetorical?
Vanners, you miss home so come home and give your daughter a proper education!
Long time since Bongser heard it as well, both of you. Last memory was of HRM ER II (Gor Bless 'er imperial purple bunions) doing the grand jubilee tour in '77. We waited for about two hours, in full cub scout uniform whilst touting our crappy plastic Union Flags, on lower Chaddock Lane in Boothstown until she passed with almost unseemly haste whilst hardly waving her left hand. The other side of the road presumably only got, and from a greater distance, the less-than-godlike Greek.
Ian McArthur, IBRC, said, "Seen more action in a wet "lerris"!
Ready for some puntabules?

| [size'AVE A BASHABLES
Okey-Dokey. Time for Billy Smart Acre’s Big Top day out.
Don’t know how folks are planning to get to Blackpudlia, but the last time Bongser went by train he had to go via Manchester. Some of the senior posters on this forum might recall a direct service from hereabouts to the Fylde coast, and some may know a folk song about the Saturday nights out in Blackpool facilitated by the choo-choo.
For those that do not, here is Bongser’s best stab at the chorus SATURDAY
Trannies XX-YY Tools
Hairnets XX-YY Swine
Fevver Boas YY- XX Yokel City Knights
Bulls XX-YY ‘Fax
SUNDAY
Barrovians XX-YY Steelers
Bulldogs XX-YY Rams
Comics XX – YY Chemics
BBQ Official total attendance for the weekend, please good people.
As ever, good luck and, as it's The Clown's weekend, COME ON YOU COMICS!

| Quote: Bent&Bongser "Wanderer (hope you are well), was yesterday a first sojourn to Perpignan for Doncaster?'"
I am well thank you, trust that you are too. The Dons have played in France before (against Toulouse) but not to my knowledge in Perpignan. I didn't make the trip myself and have in fact just returned from a break in Anglesey.
