Quote: Binosh "I’d be keeping an eye on the Wigan situation they are reportedly having cap issues for next year with all the youngsters upgrading.
I’d definitely be looking at one of their young British props like Liam Byrne however Salford always seem to pick their players up, apparently Zak Eckersley may need to make way and he’s a class out and out young British centre. Id also enquire about Taiki Chan as a wide running back row, he seems to have fallen out of favour and is young, none quota and a big strong runner being used as a prop. I really hope we stock up on props we always seem to be too lean on that area and they win you games.'"

We seem to have decided on Niu as the Leutele replacement. If Eckersley was going to be available, I'd much rather have him and use a quota spot on another prop. Be surprised if he wasn't at Wigan next year though.

From what I've seen of Taiki Chan I've not been overly excited.

Liam Byrne always struck me as someone who ran out of gas far too quickly, but then again I formed that opinion while watching him and Mulhern playing for Ireland and I thought the same about Robbie, so who knows what wonders our team can work.

Does anyone have any up to date info on the IMG grading, some slight rule changes today, or atleast announced today, likely the club has known for some time.
Like what position are we likely to be in, Derek seems 100% confident some 11 months ago but been quiet on journalists and anyone of note since on any updates

Assume he means for the club that dosent get in, or if we are the club that dosent get in

He made it clear we will improve on finances, our attendance this season won’t take us over the average threshold for a the next points, perhaps media engagements? Dunno how league position will help if that’s a rolling average or not, I don’t really know enough about it to know where we can and will improve
Sure we are pushing to do all we can

But for me we surly are the model club or idea of what is ideal, pre match entertainment done right, squad building, progressive team, fan base rising year on year and great attendances, then better finances with Derek but also becoming more self sufficient, add real competition to the league and just in general, seem to be going places with a coach like Lammy committing to 3 years, an academy licence being granted

Not sure if it's been mentioned on here but John Davidson has reported that you've signed AJ Towse

Only one mention in the trade press, but no reason to believe that it is not true.

A young, nubile semi professional in a team of part timers against a highly decorated long serving pro, in a full time team. Not the fairest of comparisons

Harsh to judge someone on their performance against Blake Ferguson as a 19 year old. But we could do with a winger that can get us on the front foot early in sets. Not sure McIntosh gives us that, and given our kicking game is likely to be lacking again next year, and we're losing key forwards, it will be needed even more.

Based on reports, rumours etc, could be looking at this:

Backs - Armstrong, Charnley, Niu, Hanley, McIntosh, Hodgson, Brand, Towse
Half backs - Lam, Moylan, O'Brien, McNamara
Props / loose forwards - Pene, Mulhern, Trout, Hughes (since move this year), Norman, Brogan, Davis, Liu
Second row - Halton, Condon (all i've seen on that is a post on this forum though), Brad Martin
Hooker - Ipape, Dwyer (plus Davis and McNamara)

That would give us 25. Chester is quoted as saying that there's 33 signed up for next season. Don't know if the other 8 would be new signings, promotions from reserves or a mix of the two. But I'd say we need a prop to be ahead of Norman and Brogan in the pecking order, and another second row.

Group of backs is starting to look a lot younger. That could be a good or a bad thing.
