There's doubt the Man's unable to control himself at times and, he has been punnished like no other. I cant imagine a Super League club player getting such severe punnishment and, that is the problem here! He hasn't stiff armed or head tackled anyone and more importantly, he hasnt hurt anyone!I think us Leigh fans are too gracious at times, other clubs fans would be crying outrage at these suspensions! I myself was outraged after seeing what Soward did to Gregg Worthington, is Gregg a dirty player? i dont think so and, what man wouldnt defend himself and give him what for in the process? (to mitigate and say Greggs challenge was high is a cop out!) Soward received no suspension and the following game kicked 10 goals and scored a try against Batley, do you think that is Justice? these are the same people who decided all ther incidents!

Quote: Harold Rigby Jnr "We pay his wages we decide where he plays and what is best for us and the club in terms of his usefulness / potential.

All of which is diminishing as the realisation hits home he is a million miles off being a top Championship prop, never mind a Dayne Weston.

However rather than have him distract us any more I would be inclined to negotiate a severance deal and release him now.

It will be cheaper than another Acton brain fart in the MPG costing us a full season of Super League revenue. Let's be clear about that.

He has had 7 games to sit down think, along with all the other times he has been suspended.'"

Disagree with the timing H.If action is to be taken, now is not the time for that either.Don't you think we've had enough upheaval for one season?Continuity in that dressing room is paramount now,no distractions.

Frank, Kirkhall does have a very good point, however Acton's behavior is just not necessary. Yes i thought 4 games was a bit high and Soward should have been punished all the same, but the more Acton doesn't get his discipline in order, the more stringent the rfl disciplinary panel will be with him. I hope i'm not speaking too soon here, but Hock is doing well with his discipline at the moment. Acton obviously needs some help in anger management or some kind of guide to help him eradicate his crackpot behavior.

Not by choice but by luck, the intent was there hence the punishment.

He is a loose cannon and there is no place for him on a rugby pitch.

I think the most frustrating thing about Acton is that he ISN'T a million miles off being a top Championship prop!

He has loads of talent, super fit, hard as nails and at 24 he has time on his side. He is just too much of a loose cannon and lets himself and the club down too much and too often.

If he could sort his head out he would be in my 17 every time. But it seems he can't and that is overshadowing all his good attributes as they are no use to anyone if he is banned from playing.

If he is still under contract then I wouldn't pick him for the rest of the season and ship him out on loan next year to see if he can behave himself and prove he deserves a final chance.

Would be a shame to see him waste all his talent because he can't keep his cool on the pitch.

Yet surely there must be a way to get him on the 'straight and narrow?

Remember when Richard Moore was playing for us in SL, in 2005? He too had serious discipline problems but, when he packed in/was encouraged to pack in the Sport, he saw the error of his ways. It was only when he had to actually get a job, (as in working for a living) that he realised how privileged he had been, to be a full-time RL player, and 'play' for a living. Richard still plays it hard, but generally fair.

Maybe there is still hope for Jamie - get him out doing some physical labour, while he has time to think about his indiscipline!! icon_wink.gif Seriously, I think he has the physique, and talent to make it, if someone can get his mind as fit as his body!!

Its not about player welfare Alan, its welfare of other players. Many a post on here about Hock.Time left in the game is his resolve. As it stands as a club we don't have the time to wrap players up in cotton wool, and certainly not in SL if it happens.

Dayne Weston and Flanagan hit the collision with heads in that Salford game, how both got up amazed me.Weston gets up looks at Flanagan and says "you need to get that looked at"...You can't teach that.

Atomic, as I saw it Weston took a tup right on the jaw. I (to choose something apposite) was gob-smacked when he went on. That would've put down a good few top heavyweight boxers. Regardless of his admirable advice to an oppo later, I simply boasted to the chaps at work about it the very next day. If he has a glass chin it must be bomb-proof and I will certainly be 'phoning him the next time I have my windows replaced. I presume that his jaw is FENSA regulated?

I think we should know!

Jamie made a foolish error on Saturday and he knows it.

The idea of sending him out on loan next season is daft imo. People learn from their mistakes imo too.

He will come back anxious to show that and' don't forget' when he just plays the game as he should he is a very good forward.

That's the frustration, isn't it Frank? I think he could go to the very top, but his (in)discipline is always letting him down. He's got a good few years of being a good boy, before the Disciplinary cease to bring up his 'previous', when looking at any citings!

I can partly understand retaliation, but patting players on the head to wind them up, or pushing them in the back, aren't even 'proper' offences!

He's been back 2 games from a 7 game ban Frank, he is on his last chance for me - and he can have the rest of the season off and the winter to think about it. Wouldn't put him near any of the games this season now.

looks like jamies on the chain gang we could extend the guided busway to join with hs2

would like to keep him. up to coach to find the key. he done well up to Swinton and 7 games was well ott by any comparison. he had those games to build his frustration up to a high pressure game someone should have been looking to relieve the pressure
he was done by the ref in the stand and thats another issue for me. the 2nd half sat ko 1604 still playin at 1655
why cant we have a game clock think we had one in east stand previous
sorry to wander cannot condone action by acton but we need to harness and channel not dispose
