| You have to meet very stringent conditions. So it should read, every club has the possiblilty of a £100k 'grant' from the rfl.
And to LL, to your credit at least you are offended by being called Richard Lewis
I have seen most of your posts, yes, however I cannot understand your support of the RFLs decsions which are slowly killing this game. Look around, Gateshead, Donny, Rochdale, Oldham and maybe others in serious trouble. Crowds in SL down quite a bit, and to put the icing on the cake a new flagship club cheating their way to SL by employing illegal immigrants oh and FulQuins Broncos continued failure to succeed and bring in the crowds. The game is on its ar*e, surely you cannot deny that one.

I also think it is a disgrace that Blackpool are flouting the Champ 1 salary cap. Their business plan must be a fun read.
Quite looking forward to our visit there.

I think you'll find that Oldham and Rochdale - if not the others listed - have been in trouble for an awful lot longer than the SL era.... but never let a few facts get in the way of a good rant.

I know what I know/think, you know what you know and think. It would seem never the twain shall meet.......well at least until the game is almost dead . Sky have a monopoly, no other broadcaster can offer the same money as them, and hence they will offer no more next time around (maybe less).
You have got to agree things have got to change, because the direction the RFL are heading at the moment is towards a very high cliff edge.

The game could be described as in a bit of a mess, but clubs have contributed in a big way to this. Give clubs money and they have a record of wasting it on spending money chasing impossible dreams by spending on the field. So give money to clubs on condition its used to help towards staffing on the commercial/business side and its accused of jumping through hoops for it.
Celtic in SL I fully supported, and you could not refuse them because a backer in Wales does not come up every day. The sport can't afford to spend vast amount of money on grass roots in Wales so made sense to let a club with a backer to enter a high profile league to lift the profile of the sport in Wales. You can't ignore things have gone wrong with it - but its for the weak willed to not want to try to expand the sport, and its those weak willed people that probably use benefit of hindsight to laugh at how it is stuttering (and their powers of intuition proven right). If 5/10 years down the line it works then for the sport its massive, to have a competitive Wales for England to play just like a competitive French side would help us compete against the Aussies.
But as a sport we haven't had the best of luck with how the licensing system came in with the falling out of the worlds economy etc at the same time. Everyone is cutting back and cautious. Salfords stadium a prime example. Football can't sell the games out like they used to.
Leeds are becoming the next dominant force like W1gan used to be IMO. But even so SL with all its faults beats football for having more winners of SL in ratio to number of clubs % to teams winning Prem. Yes I look at positives sometimes instead of constant negatives, which IMO contributes to how the sport is.
We are 1 season into the licenses, and our seemingly slim chances of toppling NZ and Aus is nothing to do with that new system. Its to do with the decline since the 90s with clubs investing in quick fixes, together with the Aussie winning mentality, and the fact the sport is their national sport that makes it difficult for us at the moment.
You mention clubs going under, but as you know this has happened before you know who was in charge, and before SL. Them clubs you name ironically are the fallout of chasing SL (apart from Gateshead maybe). We also had the biggest clubs struggling to survive prior to SL.
But if you shake your head in disbelief and can't take anything above on board, which does involve hard decisions and risks then we want different things for the game. I can totally understand why fans are annoyed at RFL and its been done to death but sometimes as this thread and many more b4 it show the negativity is easy to pick up on - you don't need to be a brain box to pick up on those. You mention Quins for low crowds for example - easy negative, but no mention of a Quins player in the England team. Wow! some might say but to get where the sport should be will take time and in my book s cockney intl is progress.

Thats exactly how I understood it and how someone at the club explained it to me early in the season, lots of key factors and conditions have to be proven and then met, which when looked at in depth were/are easier said than done. Regardless or the rights and wrongs, it certainly wasnt a cheque for £100k, come what may which is what the press article suggests.
Have these rules been relaxed then?

But Richard Lewis said the clubs will all get £100k so it must be true.

| Well he didnt actually SAY thst he just intimated that it was the case, it was only on checking the actual paperwork it turned out that some of it was to pay expenses for teams going to Tolouse, some to pay for a marketing post, some to pay for a player performance manager (though I could be wrong as that may well come from another 'pot'), and prize monies, so ALL clubs couldnt possibly get the £100K, it will possibly work out that the ALL Championship (& 1) clubs may well be sharing out what one (or two) SL club gets from the TV deal, fair or what

| I think all the so called anti-expansionist fans would have no argument at all if the rfl had let the new teams into super league as well as the traditional teams not instead of.
simple as that for me.

| I dont mind the expansion but as has been said not at the expence of heartland clubs, until this is done differently ie put in the bottom tier and work their way up with help then fans are just going to feel animosity to the RFL darlings .

| Read in the League Express this morning that 2 of the NRL signings announced last week have had texts stating their contracts are null and void. How can that be if they have signed them. Also if it was just a shareholder issue why would that affect the signings.

If a business goes into Administration all contracts are unenforceable.
Their major funder has stated that they are not going into Administration but will reform as a new business which would take over all liabilities other than those to the majority shareholders. Well maybe I am missing something but that sounds a lot like Administration to me.......................
I await a formal announcement to this end .
