Any punch thrown in the NRL is now an automatic sin bin and rightly so. If we saw a brawl like that we would be disgusted and expect the police to be involved, so why should we condone it on the field? Much has been said on these forums about how to get more kids playing league. Scenes like that put parents completely off the sport and make kids think they aren't big enough to play. Things are always going to get a bit spicy, but scenes like last week are not what the game needs.

TBH I've arrested people for fights like that outside various venues in Leigh and Wigan,were not at one time clubs 'awarded' fines for their players brawling? I seem to remember them being.

Listen to what Tony Smith said when he was national coach about brawling. It's a loss of control and that loss is a negative to the team. There are ways to hurt the opposition without an out and out brawl.

Most "brawls" aren't really brawls they are mainly just a lot of pushing and shoving. Very rarely do you get a real brawl
