| Tomkins isn't a 6, he is a broken field runner and is best coming from fullback.

| Tomkins would be sensational in his proper position of halfback and would frighten the life out of the opposion!
I dont think there is a defender in the world who would like to face Tomkin one -on-one ? He would certainly give Thurston something to think about! Dont forget sam's ball distribution has brought us tries in all our matches so far! Left at fullback he will be targeted with the high ball and he's already shown his uncertainty in that roll !
We cannot hope to progress in the comp if Sinfield remains in the halbacks also! Rob Burrow for me with Sam!

You are correct, so why does McNamara not play him? I've asked him this question in the rugby papers this week!

| Although I absolutely think Rob Burrow is fntstic the New Zealanders would target him all the time. Sad fact is he just isn't big enough. Another impact player yes but not a starting scrum half. You need the physique nd mentality of a world class middleweight boxer along with the rugby brain nd hands of Wally Lewis for this game.

Dont worry about size, they've got to catch him first!! Double Lance Todd winner Gerry Helme wasn't very big but he had 'minder' on the 54 tour in Charlie Pawsey! Murph had Vinnie Karalius in 58 too, Roger Millward had Malcolm Reily, Bishop had Cliff Watson , Steve Nash had many minders including Jim Mills !! come to think of it Andy Gregory had a number of minders also!! Its down to our 'hard men' to protect him on the field

Your spot on, Thurston does lack pace and that's why I want Sam Tomkins to run at him/round him! once past Thurston Sam would arrive at their fullback to find Robbie Burrow on his shoulder to take a Try scoring pass!!
I can still see 'little' Roger Millward running for the try line on the Sydney Cricket Ground to win the Ashes!
The most valuable commodities tend to come in 'small' quantities!!

| A good scrum doesn't have to be big or fast. He just has to be clever and able to think on his feet - the rest then takes care of itself

| In my opinion, this game will be like nothing most of the England SL players will have ever experienced. It will be brutal. I don't know how you could stop the NZ attack from running at Rob in our own half the speed they pass the ball and move round the field. Robbie has taken off a good few times this season injured after throwing himself at the big lads and did he not get taken off in the World Club Challenge concust. Anyway it was on the news that Rangi's missus is about to have their second child so that could be a very good reason to drop him. I can't wait for tomorrow and relly hope we stuff them.
