Was told this earlier today but was waiting for official confirmation in case it was Chinese whispers. Very sad news if true, he will always have a place in Leigh folklore for his try in the NRC Final.

Awful, awful news

Was in the Swinton team that won Ch1 this season and was only presented with the league trophy yesterday.

RIP Dana; thoughts, prayers and best wishes to all his family and friends.

RIP Dana, one of the nicest players off the pitch, wore his heart on his sleeve week in week out, to die at a young age like this is tragic. RIP Dana.

your so wrong, my son is in bits over this and was with dana yesterday i feel angered at what his playing ability as to do with it, whether the worlds best or the worse, dana wilson was very top bloke

I am gutted by this. An honest, genuine and friendly man, he always let on and gave his all to the Leigh cause over two years. Whilst he may never feature in a future Leigh hall of fame, he did score the winning try in our memorable first Blackpool final. I respected him as a player and he was a top, top bloke and will be sadly missed. RIP. Big fella, big heart.
