Quote: leyther ballboy "The Fev fans were just gutted and obviously there actions showed. We were not to blame... We just stuck up for our fans that got caught up in the hastle. When you see a fellow Leigh fan getting hit you will react and help them out. It's over now and we got a draw which we did not deserve lets hope we can beat Batley and make it 13. COME ON LEIGH!'"

and there's the rub. I could provide some evidence to suggest Leigh Fans started the rumpus inside the ground. I could provide some evidence to evidence to suggest Fev fans started the rumpus inside the grounds.
As is usually the case, each clubs fans are quick to hold their hands up and say "not me gov, it was t'others"!!!

We then go away, blame each other and as long as we remain narrow minded to the numpties amongst us - [sizeNOWT GETS DONE!!!!!!![/size

I was given some abuse in Station Lane - it was nowt - and I've been called worse - by Ging dong - and he's a mate!!!
But the point is, I have never abused or assaulted anyone. Why anyone from Leigh then felt the need to abuse me Lord only knows. Matt's experience in the ground next to the lagoon illustrates the same situation in reverse!!!!

There is a problem at Fev, I acknowledge that. It would be blinkered, niaive or downright daft if you think that the problem on sunday was one sided! I saw with my own eyes that it wasn't!!

Why folks have to drink then feel the need to threaten others I'll never ever understand.

Love n peace man!!! icon_biggrin.gifAISY: icon_biggrin.gifAISY:

Actually not so sad, since it shows how rare these incidents are that it has got such a lot of attention. I was behind the sticks and 6 of one and half a dozen of the other as far as I saw. The Leigh fans were throwing beer and being provocative, the Fev fans reacted. One effect of a 4.00 KO I suppose. Longer for the kids to drink.

And that Joe, is almost exactly what appears to have happened having heard from the sensible, the daft and the downright ugly - from both sides!! icon_lol.gif
The more dependent we are on alcohol sales to survive, then we're going to have more o' this! It's crapola mate.

As Paul Rogers sang in 1974 "love in a peaceful world".... icon_guitarist.gif icon_guitarist.gif icon_guitarist.gif k020.gif

Our Good Friday KO was an excellant idea now, well done the club, we all just went and got drunk after the game away from the ground.

Why can't 'we' just behave regardless of the KO time.

This is what one opposition fan says about us.....

Quote: Wildthing "CC game a few years ago, even though we thrashed Leigh they never gave up and thier fans
were great. Best bunch of away fans I have ever seen at BV.'"

If I remember right this was a 8pm KO, and we all had a good time, likewise at Bradford last year.

Our aim should be that everyone welcomes Leigh supporters.

From the other thread Martin

Quote: glow "I have suggested in the past that there are two kinds of ' chants/songs' , there are the positive singing about you own club/team/players , and the negative , usually suggesting the opposition fans are inbred/like animals in an unnatural way/Nick anything not bolted down , or that you generally ' hate ' them , personally the only hate chant that is acceptable is W1g4n , as everybody sings that one

I don't like the use of the negative stuff although some of it can be humurous and is almost compulsory depending on who you are playing

However once the actual match is over continuing to chant can quite often antagonise , I much prefer that time to moan/commiserate with the opposition fans with a smile and a handshake , add probably too much beer into the equation and an emotionally charged ending to the match and we see the results '"

The highlighted bit is how I see it , once the actual game is over Verbal ' Hostilities ' so to speak end , just like the players , you give your all for your team , when the whistle goes , we are all just RL fans again , like we were in the pub before the match

Never understood the need to get drunk to enjoy a rugby match. By all means have a pint or two but if you can't handle the stuff leave it alone. As I've said before, the vast majority of people behave themselves but there are always the few numptys (and I'm talking about each club here not just Fev and Leigh) that will ruin the day for the rest. Please go and watch another sport if you want to drag our clubs names through the mud.

Apparently a couple of Fev stewards stated that it was a group of Leeds football fans who are causing the problems at Fev and they have been causing trouble for quite a while at the ground ,needs investigating .

Wonder if one supports Paramatta? I do not know about beer throwing cos I do not drink during a game and I think it is too expensive to do that (York last season excepted.......and no wonder) but whoever that young guy is it is hard to believe that someone at Fev does not give him his marching orders.

I am not being unfair but that young man has big problems. icon_biggrin.gifEPRESSED:

There is sadly no doubt drink does not suit some folk and with regard to the lad wearing the Paramatta shirt it all happened so fast I have no idea but as my late mam would have said "Not in my house lad bugger off."

I wasn't there at the weekend due to work but I was at Fax and I have to say that if I was an opposing fan who had had a drink, was a bit of a hot head, then some of the chants that we sing would probably put me in the mood for a punch up.
Don't like some of our agressive abusive hate filled chants. Some think it's just a song. Some think they are completely harmless. I think they incite violent behaviour and think we should have a look at ourselves when things like sunday happen. Like I said I wasn't there on sunday so can't say who or what caused the trouble but above is my opinion of other games.

That is pathetic IMO if any steward owned up to that then they wants sacking for not doing his/her job

That does not supprise me Fred as I did a job in Leeds about 18 years ago and the security on the job also did it at Leeds Utd but when Leeds were away they were the violent element of the Leeds Utd supporters. It's quite possible they were all mates.
