I remember them being approached just a couple of years ago to ask them to sponsor Leigh again (even in a minor way) and their response was exactly as Matt said "We don't want to show any allegiances".
I'm not sure whether they've ever been approached to sell merchandise, but if the other stores are doing it for their local clubs - I don't see why Leigh should be any different - after all, it won't cost them any money and they may get some new customers out of it as well.

Just tell 'em we are thinking of approaching Tesco about sponsering the shirt and selling it in the new store on the LSV. That'll get them putting their hands in their pockets.

There not building a Tesco on there now, planning permission has been put in for a new Morrisons with a petrol station

Maybe the club has suggested to O'Neill's that they should have a franchise in Morrison's, if it's built?

That way, there would be much more opportunity for sales, than just on match days.

Noticed last night that Leigh Harriers have a nice new sign up on their stand 'Leigh Harriers - [iNew Madely Park [/i- Leigh Sports Village'

The Harriers are a 'bigger player' in the 'partnership' (now theres a laughable word these days at the LSV).

Anyway we are saving the sign for Crilly Park
