| Really, at the end of the day..what harm will it make to the other clubs..we are going to win this league anyway..at least with a better team we will likely have better away support so more money for these clubs..
What it will do is give us a better chance of winning the NR Cup - and why shouldn't we be on a level playing field with other teams in the same competition? Why should, say, Dewsbury be allowed to play us in the cup with the ability to spend more money on players despite having less than half the fanbase? Answer me that one!
I also don't think it is at all fair to say that Leigh have been arrogant in signing..just very very unlucky - to be a hairs breadth away from staying up.

Put your argument to the Challenge Cup and Celtic & Salford and 3 times the cap of Widnes then?
DON'T GET RELEGATED... SPEND MONEY FROM SUPPORT EVERY SEASON!
That's all there is really not 'We have more fans' since when was cap LIMIT based on that>? I think 200k is fair enough! Why should Widnes be dragged down to 300k? etc etc etc etc etc

| Erm yes..add the Widnes/SL example to the argument - thanks for helping out!
At the end of the day, the issue is why should a teams ability to spend be artificially limited when there is no threat of it going bust? To artifically level the playing field is the only answer..but then you go and make exceptions for the expansion teams!
I can see I am not going to convince you!

A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult”: |

| Like I said earlier, why should we be only allowed to spend 150k if we have more money than that??????
A level playing field a level playing field that will field sub standard players playing in a state of the art ground and fans being charged top dollar to pay to watch sub standard players??? how does that work in developing the game???
If a club can attract sponsors willing to pay for better players only to be told no you can't how does benefit the game...please someone tell me how
Its like turning round to man city and saying you can only spend £30 million a year
Stuff the salary cap bring in the best we can ,the only reason they voted for this 150k cap is because the other chairman have no intention of developing there own clubs and its a easy way of keeping costs down AND THEY GET TO WERE A SUIT AND TIE WITH A CREST ON for a minimal return

| Any club that get the chance to apply for super league needs to have a good financial base. How can a team sign the palyers to sell shirts and get bums on seats when restriced by the salary cap. If teams from the championship have any chance of getting and competing in super league they need to be allowed to grow. If clubs have money good for them. The salary cap was a OK idea when super league was avaliable by winning the grand final because teams were going sh*t or bust and when teams failed they were in trouble. Now there is no promotion teams will not run over there means for the sake of one season they all have long term plans now, so release teams to grow.

The RFL own the game. Take them to court and you would be looking at getting booted out of any comp.
Simple really, Leigh (and I do feel sorry for their fans) spat their dummy out last July when they didn't get a licence......ergo.......if you call the people who run the game a disgrace...those same people won't be lining up to help you out.
What's the old saying about burning bridges

953.jpg 2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg |
|
| Well maybe if 21 of the 35 member clubs take them to court, they could completely destroy the game by kicking 21 clubs out. Then with a 21 club organisation well managed and marketed as opposed to a 14 club organisation........................who knows

seriously....nearly 9,000 posts and you BELIEVE THAT
Rupert Murdoch pays the wages, sells the dishes (advertising) and in reality, saved the game.
Yes, We and others have been given a leg up and yes, it probably isn't fair, but if you think for 1 minute that the C and C1 clubs could break away and make a go of it, you really are missing a sandwich from your picnic!

| When we finally got a crack at Super League, what dispensation did we get then? none! we had but a matter of weeks to assemble a squad to compete in Super League and, by the time we had won promotion most of the available players had found clubs!
It used to irritate me when 'Super League' teams were relegated and received parachute payments. Not only did these 'fallen clubs' retain their squads, many of them actually improved them! Huddersfield, Castleford and Salford have been in Super League since the outset and, to hear Media pundits talk when these clubs are at the foot of the table, they make it sound like they are new to Super League! Correct me if i'm wrong, Huddersfield have spent one season out of SL, Castleford one season and, Salford two!
Widnes have also suffered this unfairness.
I'll not get on about Stadia etc, although, I'm wondering when Wakefields 'new ' Stadium is complete, many years ago their Chairman at the time, promised to build one to ensure they attained the SL criteria upon promotion!
Have they had a (quiet)dispensation ? please advise
