He'll leave it to the rest of the walkers to decide but will point to the time he PMed CL the rallying cry after which he started posting his punts using Zools' flawed template (more later). The update forced its way in unbidden and with no warning just as Bongser was typing his jocular BBQ pred as below.

Spent a week working in Swindon in the early '90s. IBRC it was a predominantly working class town (not unlike Leigh) with an abandoned guided busway. Leigh's seems a bit better planned but will cease to be of any benefit if they don't STOP the new-builds. The infrastructure IS NOT THERE!!

Hoooston, we have a problem! Toulouse triumphed and therefore, in the absence of a confirmation from CL thus far, we need a vote on the allowability of Bongser’s initial punt from the other eight walkers. Before anybody pops in with a Judge Rinder quip, solicitors, lawyers, barristers and upward are paid to apply the letter of the law without thinking of the spirit of the law. First up against the wall come The Glorious Revolution, brothers (and, maybe, sisters)! Common sense and Solomonian judgements are needed.

Earlier today Bongser was stopped from kicking plant pots over in the (court) yard by being lassoed by La Jeunesse from the battlements of Bongser Towers. “I don’t like it,” said she, “When you’re all shouty and sweary.” Bongser countered by belly warchin’ that he was allowed to give his brothers the benefit of the doubt on certain issues but that, as adjudicator, he could not viably extend that courtesy toward himself. That La Jeunesse sympathised with. She (Natalie) only pi$hed her knee length bloomers as Bongser sighed, “Aaah, the loneliness of command!”

Some of the above paragraph is “fantastically” elaborated upon, none of the below mitigation is.

I didn’t understand Bongsers message, but my Scottie Barney, said Toulouse would win 8 -2. ,Tiger Roll,would win the National,and an unamed Leyther would part the Red Sea, on BGT.

Welcome to the summary of a round mired in controversy and poorly off planters (Bongser’s playing days are well behind him (huzzay he hears you say) but he is not yet so enfeebled that he can no longer lay to waste a terracotta army – much to Nat’s annoyance). Scrummages are again contested (that for VL).

Thankee-kindly for the vote of confidence in Bongser’s integrity but it was (bl00dy) Batley that adjudicated as it turned out. The cunning plan would be for Bongser’s first punt to be disallowed but to let him, therefore retain his Joker but Bongser has to be seen to be whiter than white. Batley, in defying a nailed on away banker against Widnes, also denied Jokermon points to Pubbers, EVVO & Vanners. Too bad, so sad as [iLa Jeunesse[/i would say.

Barring Chayders missing out on the first game and the Batley debacle, Round 9 was a clean sweep for almost all the walkers. Atomic went solo on a loss for The Bulls but more than made up for that with a bang-to-rights margin in the ‘Dale versus ‘Fax game. Bravo to him!
