Indeed it is and you delivered that message brilliantly.

But the toxic combination of urban myth and alias's on these forums over the last few days has the potential to undermine confidence and progress when in reality it's never been further than the truth, and you more than anyone have championed openness and transparency.

The fans need to know the club isn't going to implode. You more than anyone can deliver that message.

There is no big drama or nothing to worry about I leave with a heavy heart but for my own personal reasons which I do not wish to elaborate on at this time. I would like to wish Derek and the guys well and urge you to get behind them as the next 12/24 months will be critical as we push for a SL place. I leave on good terms with Derek and the other guys and wish them all the very best and really hope the SL dream can become reality.[/size

I've already delivered it Steve as this extract from a post above and also in person and on other social network sites and while wishing everyone well.

Quote: Alexs Dad "Unfortunately when it comes to the workload and the investment Mish, you are 100% right but we can fully understand why people won't see that, nor should they need to because theres nothing sexy or even remotely interesting about what we do hence why we don't feel the need to tell everyone, just like when the community club partnership scheme was wtitten in may 2011, nobody felt the need to tell the world about what we might or might not implement.

Trust me mish, nothing changes...the strategic review we first did in 2012 then again in 2013 remains on target and the people who did it are still running the club.

If ever you want a coffee and findit out factually in black and white, you're more than welcome.

cheers.'"

I appreciate the offer Steve but on a business level I think you're all doing a great job. icon_thumb.gif

I'd just like to add one more thing though. All the speculation and upset could have been avoided if it weren't for Derek's rather unkind, unprofessional and childish tweet to AM about him going to Swinton last week, and the same could be said about leaving AM's name off the programme - someone was certainly sending him a very loud and public message there weren't they? What would have been the harm in keeping things private until after the GF as had been agreed? If the members of the BOM can't act in a professional way on social media and club publications then perhaps they should all stay well away especially in the weeks before the GF.

Before the new BOM took over the only link I felt I had with the club at LSV was that I was born and live in Leigh and the town had a rugby team so that's who I supported. We were far from the team we are now and I picked and chose the matches I went to.
In the close season I noticed a huge change in the openness of the club (even if it was the same behind closed doors) Andy was at the forefront of this. Now at this point the future success was still just a pipe dream but I along with a few others bought into the whole "in it together" ethos that Andy and Rob were preaching ( remember when Rob just turned up at a fan's house with a flag for his Leythmobile ) ?
It was these sort of gestures that were unheard of previously that convinced me that, for the first time in years, the club and the community/town were finally coming together. The success on the pitch is a very welcome bonus obviously, but even before a ball was kicked the feel good factor was already in full flow. I fully understand that hard working people were doing their bit behind the scene, but it was Andy's passion and enthusiasm that brought it to life.

For me Andy Mazey was a breath of fresh air to Leigh Centurions , I was very sceptical of him when he first started posting on this message Board , but it soon became obvious his intentions were very good and his openness was very commendable , I thank you Andy for everything you have done at our great Club .You WILL be missed .However life goes on and we must all do our bit to see to it that Leigh Centurions survive , and not play the Personality Clash card , I think Alan Platt does a great job , im also a sort of Neil Wilcock fan icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif though I hate to admit it , again Dereks enthusiasm is very good , and Mike Norris and Steve Openshaw tend to stay in the Background , I suppose through choice , but we must all give our support 100% to Leigh Centurions , I for one will do my best in every way I can .

I think we will have a few and put the world to rights for quite a while to come Andy

You and I know the club we love and support, the club goes too deep in our veins to purposefully hurt it, we will have tiffs but that love and those memories will never go away, they are part of what makes us what we are today

See you soon pal and the next drinks on you if you have that jacket on again

The one thing that i understood from the very beginning of Andy's involvement with our club was that Andy and like minded business men wanted to help get us to be able to "stand on our own" and be self sufficient . I think i remember Blake Solly being very impressed with the "strategic Plan" that was presented to him . I hope more than anything that we HAVE put things into place to STILL be less reliant on directors having to cough up over and above a plan set out and agreed to. On the flip side we are in a fantastic position on and off the pitch at the moment and i can only imagine the "opportunities" that present themselves to a league winning/ dominating RL club on the brink of being able to play at the highest level possible . I'd imagine that you would need instant cash to take advantage of "what's on offer" which goes against the grain of steady controlled growth towards self sustainability. Do you hold back with cash and continue to grow steady but maybe miss the opportunities this time or splash the cash and give your selves every chance possible, but being a sports club a bad decision in a game can destroy any chance of getting your goal this time no matter how much money it has cost to be in the game in the first place. I suppose that one method gives the best chance to win the other you don't fall as far if you don't. I was both extremely Grateful and Horrified when Dereck felt he had to put his hand in his pocket and personally pay our players (but having known him a few years now i'm not surprised), but we should not have been in that position in the first place and that's what horrified me. I think both men are 2 of the best things to happen to our club and like Alexs Dad said earlier in the thread there are more people doing one hell of a lot of work that we are not aware of and on could not exist without the other, There i've said it i hope your still awake icon_surprised.gifops:

I, like a good few others on here have been around the block a few times. Unfortunately we seem to be going down the same route as previous, and it will all end in tears.

Fantastic concept when the BOM was set up, but they never seem to be able to work together in the long (or even medium) term.
A lot of good words being said on here, but I am beginning to have serious doubts icon_sad.gif
