| Not a fan of a drum or parky pig for that matter, dont see what a pig as to do with Leigh Centurions, not a real fan of the name Centurions either, what's wrong with just good old Leigh RLFC like in the old days... did we adapt that name for the sake of sky... not done us much good.

| What's wrong with giving it (or any other idea a go) it's harder to get a home crowd chanting in unison because we usually stand in the same place week in week out. Small groups start a chant but it soon dies because it's not picked up by others in the stand.
Parky or someone in the North stand with a horn/bugle could just play a few notes to alert the fans then we could all sing/shout together.
It don't need to be a constant beat, but I think the drum could also work in the same way. Anything that would unite the fans would create a better atmosphere.

| Change is good, you cannot evolve without change. Change's biggest threat is those who want change for change's sake - if something isn't the best it can be,and it isn't, first find out why, eg no away support, nothing to play for, boring RL etc, and deal with whats within your control working with the existing stakeholders. The rebirth of legends is designed to start that more positive match day experience, and club mentality, and I agree we need to move that inside the ground
This season we will have the biggest goal since 2004 to play for, making every league game important and that will motivate fans to support their clubs imo, you will have at least 5 clubs looking to get that pot of cash for 2015, plus potentially Dewsbury and Donnie
We need fine tuning, not rebuilding - again imo - and input from stakeholders will be very welcome, because the club is the sum total of its fans - those stakeholders - and enjoying the experience of being a supporter, old or new, of our club is paramount to our success

| Gimmicks like drums or bands do not create atmosphere - excitement on the pitch and bigger crowds create an atmosphere in the stand. If something exciting happens on the pitch then our crowds do generally rise to it and create a brief spell of atmosphere - if there is a lull on the pitch (and Christ knows we've seen enough of those over the last few years!) then you can't expect the crowd to be buzzing and no amount of drums will change that!

| As one of the 'old school' I go to games just to watch the rugby.
However, having experienced first-hand, the atmosphere inside our stadium, when there is a big crowd on, I'm willing to try anything to get families to turn up for our games.

| i cant see a quick fix for the atmosphere, the matchday experience can be improved on and may give a better vibe which i know the BOD are on with but the atmosphere itself will only be different if we (the fans) make it different, i.e get noisier or increase in numbers.
The matchday experience may help with the numbers part, i seem to remember the atmosphere at Hilton park being much better with similar crowds though so maybe we have just got quieter!

That was my thinking too Alan. I wonder why all the big clubs use a drum

Wigan won everything last year without a drum, Sheffield and ourselves won the championship pots and I can't recall a drum at Sheffield either

| Drums don't win games or create atmosphere.
Exciting play does and good performances of the players involved.
Every now and again I watch Man City when there is no RL to watch. I don't hear drums there although I have witnessed the odd flare set off by some clown (no disrespect Charlie).
You do not hear drums at most footie grounds because folk are not allowed in with them.
Watching exciting play on the pitch determines atmosphere at games and that matters wether you are an elderly or young fan.
When the friendlies are out of the way the atmosphere at matches at the LSV will ratchet up because fans realise due to the scrapping of licenscing the days of every league game being friendlies are thank god over .

I will not criticise the club for trying something new because we are hardly packing them in to the rafters without a drum as it is,
We all go to a game to enjoy the rugby and to soak up the atmosphere of a live match so well done to club for attempting to address the issue and implement a solution.
If a drum enhances the kids enjoyment, and a few of them bring their parents back with them the following week then we begin to build a platform to increase gates. Alternatively we can carry on and do nothing.
Besides we can place the drummer amongst people who don't mind us trying like Me, Demon and leyther geezer.
PS I am deaf as a post
