Quote: Dick Jones "So its seems Friday night is the only NO NO'"

Friday night is the least preferred for those that will go regardless. Everyone on here is missing the point. 95% of the 1500 fans that currently watch will still go no matter what day/night we play. The question needs to be which day/night would help to increase the current poor crowds by attracting new/old fans and increase the corporate revenue in the boxes. Tap into the research that has already been done by the Super League clubs over the last fifteen years about how they increased their crowds and match day revenue and copy that. It's proven and factual. There is no point trying to re-invent the wheel. Why would leigh be any different to any other RL club/town? Ask yourselves why do Leeds, Wigan, Hull, Saints and Wire NEVER schedule home games for a Saturday evening? Do you think they haven't done the research?

All those clubs are in SL, they in the main are able to attract much larger corporate support and income than Leigh, our potential for corporate income is tiny compared to these clubs, our focus has to be bums on seats and feet on terrace

...and Super League is the target that the B.O.M. have set themselves. We have to start acting like a SL club if we want to be one. Copy the successful business models with paitience and un-quivering determination to stay on that model (despite what unexpected pitfalls that come up) and you can't fail. Trying to re-invent the wheel is a waste of time and money and will take your focus away from your targets.

Are you being serious ?

So which SL club do think we can currently emulate? , Wakefield maybe? , Bradford? , London?

Which current SL club is operating a successful business model? , Huddersfield? , Salford? ,HKR? , Wigan even?

Maybe focussing on being the best Championship Club might be the best target to aim for and attain 1 st

We won't follow anyone's lead.

Our business plan and model is based on sustainability first and foremost and building from the grass routes up.

Engaging the youth and community and linking ourselves to health and education is what we will look to do over a period of time.

While Paul needs and will have additional resources for 2014 onwards to give us a chance of being in the mix for 2015 it is not and will not be poop or bust, it's a long term plan and long term vision.

The state of SL clubs generally is frightening and some of these teams are simply unsustainable and have quite simply failed to deliver sustainable community clubs, we need to be ready as our destiny will soon be in our own hands again and we need to learn from not just our own failings in the past but the failings of SL clubs generally not copy them.

Wire play Sunday 3pm when not on TV, I would take Sunday 3pm to May then Saturday 6.30pm for the rest of the season
Get a build up outside with bands, Parky, bouncy castle, Legends etc plus no competition with local SL teams

Lynda , Charlie agrees with you , Friday nights are no good , we tried them before and they don't work , I know a few people who cant go because of work commitments , I realise people work on Sundays to , but you must go with the majority , I voted for Sunday afternoons , but I would go along with early evenings on Saturdays .

The above schedule would be a very good plan to implement in my opinion

The evidence would suggest that in fact Fridays have a better average than Sundays, so how can you say they don't work?

Mark Twain "'There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.'"

"Lies, damned lies, and statistics" is a phrase describing the persuasive power of numbers, particularly the use of statistics to bolster weak arguments. It is also sometimes colloquially used to doubt statistics used to prove an opponent's point.

I was at the fans forum when that evidence was presented and if I recall correctly our best attendances happened to be on a Thursday.

Fact is people who pick and choose their games are more likely to attend against perceived better opposition.

Soon we will have promotion and relegation back in all 3 leagues and I think that will help most clubs.

When licenscing was introduced I posted from day 1 that it would be harmfull to the pro game and would not last long.

It has proved worst than I feared and lasted far too long and thank god it is nearly over.

Well I haven't looked at the said Reports , but for me our crowds didn't increase by Friday night games , im sure Trevor B was trying to implement Friday games and didn't see any increase .

As for next season I know 2 potential Co-operative sponsers , who wouldn't be able to get to Friday Games because of work commitments , I realise some would want still want Friday Games , but its all down to what suits the individual .
