The best young coach is at Bradford then we have two at Huddersfield even barrow out coached us. I wish Paul well as I want a successful club but this has 2009 written all over it

| I agree with you to an extent Mo , our play is far to predictable and years out of date but who do we replace him with ? , because we can't afford to pay him off can we until BOB turns up ? . .
The BOD or whatever name they're going under shouldn't have given him a new contract until after our future is eventually sorted ..... which isn't going to be anytime soon .
The PSG or whoever without putting their own hand in their pocket have hog-tied us to a several thousand pound a year contract leaving us without any options to look at .
So , It looks like we're stuck with PR which isn't entirely a bad thing , I just wish he'd ditch this dire style we play and throw the sodding ball about a bit more .

Lol what?
We have our strongest squad that we have probably had at this level. I have never seen us have so much strength in depth. Losing Murrell would be a problem but if any team lost the best player in the league it would hurt them. We still have about 6 or 7 players who are either injured or simply cant get in the team that would get in most teams at this level, we have never had that before.

The PSG have absolutely nothing to do with hiring/firing people. The Board of Directors are the only people with that authority. The PSG 'help out' in a voluntary UNPAID capacity and may be asked for their opinion, but that's all - they have zero 'power'. Hope that has helped to clear up your understanding of who does what?

| Does anyone really think that Paul and his team just coach the inside ball in training. Get real. It saddens me that people post the "PR inside ball" and " he only has one move". Watched Cas and Widnes the other day and it was used a damn site more that we use it by both teams. When those lads go out onto that field the plays are in their hands. Paul can shout as much as he likes but it won't get him anywhere. OK he can make changes but I personally don't know what sort of contracts the players have signed. Some may get payed play or not, so it would cost the club bundles to drop a player to bring in another. Fred once posted that when Basil was here he tried to instill in the lads a philosophy of not being too concerened about what the opposition were doing but to concentrate more on their own game. Well the games changed. I think that the same thing is being coached and it needs to alter quickly. This league is bigger, tougher and faster. This team is lazy in defence and in order to build a platform for our play makers we need to batter the opposition when they have the ball. Legaly that is. We need to be very concerened about what the opposition is doing and be totaly switched on to it. I wasn't there on sunday but I have seen this coming. There seems to me to be a don't worry we will be ok attitude, but it needs to alter now. I am not in the sack Paul Rowley league because I think he will come good for this club and like I have said before, I would hate for Paul to leave only to take on another club where he prospers, like he did in his playing days. I really think that if and when Coyle is back things will change. People should not wish for Paul to go but wish that we had a first class defence coach and a clicking half back pairing. I would like to see Paul be ruthless now in team selection and drop the non performers.
I don't know if news about a players new contract mid season is the best thing to do for team morale either. This can lead to a drop in heads if some think they may be out at the end of it.

| Its all well and good saying stick with Rowley, Leigh Centurions is a business and its the same as any other business, if the boss isnt performing then the directors want to know why and then come up with plan so the boss does perform better, if that dosnt work then the boss has to leave.
Rowley is a nice person, but sentiment should not come into it when its a business.

| Paul is the coach who against the odds brought the northern rail cup home to Leigh. The business side is out of his hands and the budget constraints at Leigh are well known. The club does not now have specific individuals who can now influence the bottom line. I think you should move away from the personal approch adopted it may help widen the topic

First off, I'm not in the 'get rid of PR' camp. He did very well last season, against all the odds - hence the 'Coach of the Year' award.
However, I thought Ian Millward had some part in the coaching set up, when we won the NRC?

Paul hasn't become a bad coach and its not his fault the BoD awarded a very hasty (IMHO) 3 year deal before a ball was kicked.
Our squad on paper should be doing better in this league as I feel this season the league is made up of a lot of very average teams - understandable giving we expanded the league (might take a few years before fixtures become unpredictable again).
The players need to stand up and be counted as at times they switch off and lose focus far too easily, now for me the fault of the coach there is he should drop them but that inevitably means playing youngsters - against Hunslet, Doncaster etc, we could maybe get away with it but against the majority of last years championship teams we'll get caught out but as our established players are getting caught out I'd give youth its chance if we have the odd option or move things around.
We are not a top 3 side as I feel Fax, Fev and Eagles are currently far better than us (on & off the field) and we are going backwards (off field in particular), that needs to halt and for me this season should be about halting the rot (again on & off the field) and moving forward.
I feel our coach could do that however the jury is still out on the BoD as I'm worried that they miss too many opportunities and score too many 'own goals' for the club to really succeed, that said none are doing it out of malice and I do believe the decisions they make are honest ones regardless of if I feel they are correct.
However its important to remember that the with rewards available to anyone finishing 8th upwards this season it now means you don't need to be a good side week to week - just come good during the end of season cup games that decide the title, we are capable of that but lots of work needs to be done on the training park for that to be achieved.

| Our fixtures are unpredictable, I didn't expect to be tattered by Fax, Fev and Sheff.
The facts are the deal was silly but we are used to them calls, we are stuck with him unless we 1. Enter Admin, 2. He resigns 3. A SL club recognise his talents and make us an offer we cant refuse.
What I would ask is that whilst he is here he proves dipsticks like me wrong by turning things around and sending fans home gagging for the next fixture, my humble pie will be devoured cold and I will make my apology public - the balls in your court Paul, show me what a pratt I am.
