30/04/06 "Some of W*gan's travelling fans headed towards the exit before it was even over.".................no change there then!![/quote:suio7kr3]
.....They are our people. Drummond, Costello, Manfredi, Svabic, Martyn, Street, Tickle, Patel, Mossop, Horo, Bristow, Leuleui, Varley, Fleary, Rivett, Tabern, Doran, Woods, Donlan, Wilshire, Leaefa, Hansen, Sale, Murphy… these are all my people.
As a Leyther, you’re one of us the moment you come here to wear the shirt. I don't care where you were born, what colour you are, what religion you are, what language you speak. You're one of us, part of our culture, writing our history as you create your own, and making us stronger for it....[/quote:suio7kr3]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10303.jpg |

| Quote: Cokey "Ok-Well you did slate him in one of your post, just like lots of other people do.So that goes with him and his club. But like i said everyone will be celebrating if he makes the difference in the euro champs. So I think the answer is ( 2 faced ).'"
I slated Rooney for holding his club to ransom for a massive pay rise, and for being ineffectual (along with most of his team mates) in the last World Cup - both statements factually accurate. I could also have a go at him for turning his back on his hometown club, and slating the manager who nurtured his talents ("Once a Blue - Always a Red"!!) - and, as I explained before, I will be entirely indifferent if he scores the winner in the Euro 2012 final, as I'll be supporting Ireland.......so please explain how that makes me Two-faced??
Ask yourself this - if Fergie (as has happened so oft in the past) had applied his usual 'No player is bigger than the club' rule to Rooney's transfer request....and he'd gone to City (in a Carlos Tevez stylee), and it was he who'd scored the goal, in the fifth minute of 'Fergie time' that had won them the Championship, or he'd scored the winner in the derby match, and run the length of the pitch (Adebayor style) to celebrate his goal in front of the United fans....then he turns out for England, and following a poor all-round performance, petulantly berates - live on TV - the fans who've spent the sort of money he'd consider loose change, and travelled thousands of miles, just for giving voice to their frustration.......would you honestly feel the same way about him in an England shirt??
And I STILL maintain that the example of Sam Tompkins (or any other player from a club you don't like) scoring the winning try against the Aussies is a valid one.......and it will be interesting to see what the reaction of RL fans would be if, as I suspect, the "Saviour of English/British Rugby League" ends up following his brother over to 'The Dark Side' before the next Union World Cup!!

So from Utd's starting line up on Sunday there was one player who had come through the youth system in the last 15 years - the youth coaches must have been beaming with pride!!

My initial post was intended and directed in general to those who dislike man u or player for that matter, not at you.It was you who decided to reply to my post.I have already stated that i don't hate other clubs or players either and congratulated city on winning the title, and that goes for footy, rugby, cricket, etc. Doesn't matter to me. I say the winners can laugh and the losers can please themselves.

| QPR alone had 3 players from City's Youth development.
Sturridge reluctantly had to let go to Chelski, Boyota on loan at Bolton, Micah Richards. With a good mix of English intl players - Milner, Barry, Hart, Johnson, Lescott.
With the biggest Academy Development project in Football starting to be built next door to the stadium. Creating loads of jobs in an area in need of developing. But of course the MU media and fans (not supporters because hardly any go) will continue with the misinformation or are simply in da Nile
I no longer look back at Mercer/Alison years, because the futures too exciting for the small club with small mentality in Manchester.
ps Utd have spent money to start off their revolution - more money than most other clubs could afford. They even mortgaged the club as a PLC which brought in money to buy success, which ironically bit them on the bum years later.

Over 50 years of pain, pleasure, frustration, joy, heartache and ecstasy that supporting Leigh has given me but I would not swop it.: |
|
| History is always interesting as most of it can be written in many ways, someone compared how much City had spent compared to Utd in the last 2 years which is fine but lets look at how many times Utd were the top spenders during the last 20 years of the Premiership and how many times they broke the English signing record.
RE the rules about spending UEFA are bringing in destroying City, are you serious, do you honestly think they have not planned for it,just look whats going on around the ground compared to Old Trafford (new neon sign outside of Lou Macaris chippy). The plans for cIty are all long term and I suggest you read an article in the Mail recently where Sheik Mansour said nobody speaks about his family owning the New York Harbour Board, half of Manhatten and umpteen other famous landmarks, they all congratulate him on City and what its doing to raise the profile of his country.
Utd fans can taunt us as much as they want about 19 titles we don't care its now and the future that interests most fans.
