| Your plucking figure from nowhere JIC,no one can know how many people this will put off or how many new supporters it could attract.
Its not really a laughing matter JIC,the clubs gone nowhere for 30 years because its followed the same policies over and over again,it has to change or adapt to whats going on around it or we'll fall further down the ladder.
We've got a board of three and i've no doubt the CC have an imput on how the club is run now plus the PSG,why can't we have a better corporate side now?.
as for your last point,an explanation wouldn't go amiss.

| I honestly think that the Friday night games will be a success, people don't do anything on a Friday night anymore, its a good chance to get out with your mates for a few drinks, even persuade mates that don't go watching the games to come aswell.
2012's Friday night now should consist of few drinks with your mates watching Leigh home or away, then off into whatever town for a couple more after the game. I can't wait.

| well thats stopped me from watching them most of the season,i do disco/karaokes on fri and sat nights no way will i be able to go.
i know a lot of people who i have spoken to today are very angry and saying they may come out of lisa and the lottery.i know how they feel.why put your money into something if you dont get to see anything for it.
1974 i started watching them,i will still try and go to the games that i can do,but they will lose quite a bit of money off my family.
how about a poll on it again just to get a feeling from all different sides.

If no one knows, why have a fans forum and as the question what night is most popular?
If you don't live in Leigh (like myself) and work like most people Monday to Friday by the time I finish a long day, get home and then rush to Leigh I will be Luck to arrive in time for kickoff.
But I agree with your comments we will see and I for one won't be watching many games on a Friday (I may take leave for the odd one), so no ST's from my family as I am the one who drives.

Im personally very disappointed Jimmy, there are loads of things to do on a Friday , as you know i like a flutter , and attend my Beetle Drives on Fridays , Saturdays is my Whist Night , and Sunday Nights im a Professional Visitor , for those with no friends ,ie"Frank B" , so Sunday afternoons was ideal for me .
If anyone fancies a Game of Beetle , feel free to message me .

| Haha when I said 'people' I meant 17-35 year olds, I wasnt including old people like yourself and Frank
You only have to look at the half decent turn out The Shaw Cup got last Friday, with hardly any funds for advertising etc to show that there is a decet sized potential market there for people that want to go out watch some men go hell for leather on a rugga field for a few hours with a few beers.

| Don't like the Friday game's idea at all, i much prefer Sunday 3pm kick off time, it will probably effect how many game's i will go.

| Another thing I've noticed is EVERY Friday game we have is at home, the club just needs a decent marketing idea/ slogan/ offer to bring the fans in, I think Fridays could be a massive success.

| Quote: j.c "Obviously i'm in a minority on here but i'm delighted the club have finally bitten the bullit and opted for friday evening games, saturday evenings would have done as well.
Presumably this decision has been prompted by the corporate side of things, but i genuinely believe this will be good for increasing gates long term, the attendences were going nowhere fast on sunday afternoons.
Going off this MB then it seems the club will lose some supporters, but if, by the end of the season, the attendences have held up or increased, and the corporate side has increased then this policy must be seen as a success and the way to go in the future.imo the club becoming stronger is all that matters.
If that means losing some supporters [including me on issues other than this one] then so be it.'"
I think the club has to ensure that for losing regular fans support on a number of Friday games it can pull in the finance of new support to not only match it but beat it - otherwise its a pointless exercise.
Its a either a bold move or a poor one, time will tell as you say.
It will need a push to suceed as in effect the club are targetting a new type of audience.
It will be tough at times, for instance you neeed to get circa 2,000 fans to the LSV on a Friday night in March to see Leigh play York rather than staying in or going to the pub to watch Warrrington v St Helens on TV.
Hopefully this will succeed (even though in effect It means some like myself become a occasional fan rather than a week in week out fan - I suspect thats why its gone down like a lead balloon for a lot of the current support) its a big gamble - especially when the club had so much trouble in the off season to survive, and lets face it inevitably some fans will lose interest as other leisure interests catch their eye that they can do week in week out.
So long as the club replace that support and retain a lot of the current support by making them think the LSV on a Friday night is the best alternative then it should be fine.

| Mmmmm now let me see we have played rugby on a Sunday for xxxyears and the attendances have gone-----DOWN so it must be time for a change or is that too obvious for some thicko's on here?
Evolve or die it's that simple, a different day has to be tried, I bet the players and coaching staff won't complain.

Don't worry Ian you are not a 'thicko' like me
From what I can see gates have risen for the last 3 seasons
Averages of
1984
2144
2379
Hopefully we'll continue that trend in 2012 (Fridays or otherwise)

| Personally don't mind Fridays but if it's going to be Fridays make them all Fridays!!
This fixture list reminds you how cr@p this league is, you could get the marketing genius from the top 5 brands in the world and it would be a miracle if he got season ticket sales into 3 figures with this list and price structure,
Oh and after 22nd June we have two guaranteed home games until the next bout of boxing day friendlies, how is anyone supposed to survive off that?
