I know what your saying John, but i know at least 3 lapsed fans at work who say now, they will not pay £14 to watch championship rugby, will it make more walk away i wonder.

| We are very reasonable with our season ticket prices, our concessions get charged a lot more every other ground however.

| Tell em they would not pay that if they bought season tickets.
Now when they say what is the point when there is no promotion or relegation ask them what they do when Leigh are playing. I bet they don't stay home watching the Coronation St omnibus.

These people can make as many excuses as they want Ian,i'm passed caring what they think.
ateotd Ian if your on minimum wage its about 2 hours pay,i dont think thats a lot to pay to be entertained.
I know its expensive for a family to come and watch and thats why the club should come out with a vry good price for a family ticket.

Put the price up for pensioners and reduce kiddie tickets.

| Quote: Starbug "That is the actual cost of a ST , or the cost of individual tickets for a seasons games for Leigh at the LSV with the club spending at current salary cap levels
Ie the money each fan ( along with AT contribution ) that it costs the club to operate on gates of around 2,000/2,200'"
The Watcher would like to point out to Starbug, that his maths would be correct if match day tickets were the only income the club had but as he well knows there are other streams of monies coming into the club.

| Leigh's main income is from Sponsorship Lottery and ticket sales oh and what LISA members contribute.
I doubt we make much from merchandise sales and I am sure you me and most on here know that.
Last season my season ticket cost £60 which is far too low especially bearing in mind how much I pay to watch our lads at away games. I think most of my age group will think the same otherwise we would not have been fans for as long as we have been.

I think its a tough call for the club.
It needs finance urgently and its the most obvious way of bringing it in, however we need to increase our support so any big increase in ticket costs could see our support figures drop (especially if we end up in a relegation battle as seems likely if we are starting from scratch with our team).
I'd let accompanied under 12's in for free , and a set matchday price of £2.00 for 12 - 15 year olds (you will recoup any losses as this group will spend it on other things at the LSV such as food and drink and also are more likely to purchase the club merchandise).
I'd aim for a decent priced family ticket and allocate a part of the stand for this (not neccessarily opening a stand up but pointing people into a certain area of the ground), concentrate on this area as our Junior Centurion zone and throw in a stall in the concourse selling perhaps any merchandise, sweets , crisps etc , etc.
I'd get Arty at this end of the ground pre match meeting the youngsters as they come through the turnstiles or even outside the turnstiles and if able get the occasional player down to speak to the children / sign autographs etc.
Difficult to say what the ST price will be as no-one seems to know the layout of the league will be or how many games we will have at home.
I'd not put matchday prices up as such but use something that low cost Airlines have developed into a very successful fine art, thus if you purchase your ticket in advance you get it at the cheapest price, however the longer you leave it the more the price rises to the point that if you pay on the day you pay more, it can be a good way of hiding a ticket rise that would otherwise prove unpopular or be used as a negative.
In saying all that for now i'll be happy if we get a chance at purchasing a season ticket and just hope things can be sorted soon.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

Maybe the Watcher would like to point out these other ' Income streams ' and the amounts they raise ?
Also he could consider that if our ticket income was a similar amount to what Mr Thomas was putting in every year , then my maths is in fact correct , and for every pound spent on tickets by fans , another pound was being put in by Mr Thomas , therefore if a ST cost £ 140 , the true cost was double , ie £ 280

There will be some news on ' family ' type stuff on Wednesday , and I completely agree on both the free entry under 12 and the cheap ticket for 12-16 s
However if you are trying to attract families , you still need something to catch their interest in the first place , and just ' having ' a cheap ticket available wont achieve that

| The Maurice feels that standing tickets go to £16 and seating at £17, but if you buy your ticket in advance the cost drops to £14 and £15. Concessions to £12/13 dropping to £10/11 and Under 16's at £8 with Under 11's at £5
The big push would be to make the ground and its facilities a family experience by utilising the main bar and marketing family orientated season tickets whereby when an adult one is purchased the kids is £10 u11, with id and photo, £30 under 16 with ID and photo. Adult ticket at circa £140 standing £150 sitting, concessions £100
All season tickets to have a DD option to spread the cost with season tickets issued in 2 parts to negate any scrotes scamming.
