Both Thackery and Gleeson came back on the field for a second spell so the injury excuse is just that an excuse. And of course we know barrow never throw a forward pass or give a head high tackle or knock on without giving themselves up for it - get real it's swings and roundabouts in rugby league especially with the ref who was in charge who lets the game flow, better that than a penalty or scrum-a-thon, and I also caught the incident re Govin and Catic on video, ive seen bigger hits in an under 9's game, the ref only put it on report because both Catic and Rooney cried long and loud about it, and we'll let the RFL decide on that one but Catic acted true to his penalty machine reputation by giving a cheap shot in the very next tackle, like Wright has commented Barrow are not as good as some think they are you want to thank our lucky stars you didnt sign Doran because between him and catic youd have been penalised out of every game

I'll have that then (TBH it was so bl00dy dark I must have mistaken 18 for but Gleeson certainly did because Barrow played better in those spells he was on the field.

I have to say tha the RFL should look at the lights at Barrow because the miners car park is better lit. I have never been to such a poorly lit pitch in my life.

After last night Matt I would say that this squads attitude towards winning is a lot more intensive than then. Those lads showed some bottle last night.

Agreed. Only one team with a 100% record after just two rounds! Anyone can beat anyone else.

We certainly did have a good side in the 2001 season.

Difference in my view is the fitness levels' the team spirit. the tackling (forget first 10 minutes yesterday and really it wasn't the tackling but Rooney's excellent kicking) and the structure of our play.

Ok disagree and take out 2001 season but name one other season that remotely comes close to this one since 1981/2.

I really hope the RFL leave the Championship structure alone and fiddle with all the other leagues that frequently throw up mismatches.
This league is probably the most difficult one to call, and as if to underline that statement - how many had Hunslet down for a away win today

Be fair, there is no team in this league that can be pointed out as whipping boys this year, they've all got potential to win games as far as I can see, Hunslet today have proved that.

I can't see us repeating 2001 somehow, that was a freak season against lesser opposition. That said, it'll be a good side that stops us winning the title.
