Completely agree. Sadly, despite the original premise that 'they' won't be trying to recoup any of the original outlay for the project, it would appear that we simply don't fit in with their plan so from our point of view it's time to draw a line under it and move on to somewhere where we are actually welcome. Anybody who can't see the parallels between LGFC and what could happen to Leigh RL if Sale moved in are sadly deluded IMHO.

| Been to watch Sale many times at EP average attendance is between 7 & 8000 with the big games leicester etc they would fill LSV, I don't see any reason why this move would have a detremental effect on Leigh. For the businesses in Leigh it could only be beneficiall.
All the talk about Kennedy bringing about the downfall of SC is nonesense, he is a business man who gave SC what they wanted a few years ago, he has paid their policing bills to allow them to get the games on, the only people to blame for SCs downfall is Stockport County's Board.
Its the same scenario as what happened at Orrell RU a few years ago all the members were more than willing to queue up to take their cash payments from Whelan, then were surprised when they found they then didn't run the club, bumbling idiots who have no one to blame but themselves.
As far as playing second fiddle to Sale at LSV I don't want to see that happen but what is the difference between that and Wig*n who would you imagine would take priority at the DW when push comes to shove.

| Is there no legal way that Genesis can get into LSV? Even as a rugby fan i thought the setup with East, Centurions, Genesis and the Harriers looked a tidy set up. I though Blackburn Reserves was just a bonus to ease the costs to the others.

We don't fit in to the LSV's masterplan, unfortunately. Basically, we don't bring in the bucks.

At the risk of upsetting a lot of people, for a stadium of this size and with the running cost's that go with it 24/7, 52 weeks a year............then from a "gate money" viewpoint, I doubt if the Centurions even manage to pay Simon Toone's wages ? That is why any suggestion of other clubs coming to the LSV must be viewed with an open mind.......Leigh Centurions on their own even in Super League would not cover the costs alone.
As for Genesis, the LSV isn't for Unibond football, I just hope the proposed move to Crilly Park works out for you Matt !

| I don't see what the problem is ?
If you want to watch them, fine. If you don't, Fine.
This stadium is there to be used and it isn't Leigh RLFC's devine right to have it to ourselves.
If Sale pay the price, whats the issue ?
Winter Rugby ? If it comes off, I may watch a game or 2 myself !
It will have no bearing on Leigh RL at all.

| What Snowy said....
The bottom line is that this doesn't affect us as Leigh Centurions fans. No one is going to bar us from the ground, no one is going to round us up to go and watch an inferior product in the winter months, no one is going to insist on moving the LSV to Sale......
Non issue. Whether they come or not, LCRLC will be playing at LSV for the forseeable future, it will cost a rather large amount to buy us out of our contract, we have nowhere else to go, and with the intention of applying for SL we need a good quality ground to play in.
Such as the LSV.

What is the fear tho of a lodger at LSV that play most of their games in Winter? Its money in the bank, and less money for Centurions to chip in and as already mentioned we may get a bit of money going our way because of the share we have.

Because there is an overlap from February to May and again from August to October...quite a sizeable portion of our season. If Sale got in to the play-offs and had to arrange a game at short notice at the whim of Sky TV (and therefore potentially a Sunday), who do you think will get priority on using the ground?

| I see your point but when are the televised games for Union ? Will they cross when we play? Have Centurions made sure we are not effected by any of this? Quins and Leeds do it so surely we can get along and work together. Better than the option of no significant money coming in with what Centurions put in.
Positives could be a shop maybe opening again where it would possibly be more worthwhile sharing etc. Maybe fans of Sale watching odd Leigh game, just like it maybe other way round. Had Sale been owning the ground then yeah we should be worried then but genuinely can't see a major problem, apart from working with each other on fixture changes if they happen.

| I am with Matt on this especially after a conversation I had last year with some Stockport County fans.
We do not want these cuckoos in our nest.

| Have you seen the cost of going to watch Sale, they will have to do some special offers to get most RL fans to go and see why League is a much better game.
