| I must say I am shocked - I never expected that type of scoreline. Whichever way you look at it that is a HUGE embarrassment to the RFL - infact its nothing short of a disgrace.
They will finish bottom by a country mile if they do not improve drastically which means some poor team (hopefully not us) who finishes above them will be relegated in their place. What a farce.
Just think.we could have had Oldham in our division and a couple of good local derbies...or even Blackpool for that matter.
I am not sure people who are going to go all the way to Toulouse for the away fixture are going to want to watch a 50-0 debacle?

| Thast's the worst possible result for the RFL and their 'expansionist' cause. Just to think, Nigel Wood was 'selling' the Championship, at it's launch, on the excitement of Toulouse being in it!
In defence of the French, it was their second game, in the UK, inside five days. I wonder if they travelled twice, or the RFL paid for a 'tour'? Also, they've had virtually no match practice - they were going to enter the French Cup, while we were all enjoying the NRC, but the other French clubs voted them out of it! Another classic example of the RFL helping the French - by getting the clubs to fall out with each other!
Still, they can always start signing all the players that have been refused visas by the UK!!
P.S. A good result for Widnes though - and a massive boost for their points difference!

Said on Sky that they'd stayed over.
They were poor but had little to no warm up games, get a few weeks into the season and I think they'll start to win some at home.
Well Done to Widnes a good crowd in there, hope we learn from it.

| Toulouse looked very weak in build and had no line speed in defence, looked more like an amateur team than pro.
Widnes played fast around the ruck and had great linespeed, offside mostly, but were never questioned in attack or defence.
Well done Widnes both on and off paddock, I bet a few watching were wondering how Salford got in.

And no doubt the RFL funded that, throw them out and share their fees between the rest of the clubs, seems a better idea.

Good to hear the French clubs at least have a bit of pride in their own comp and have shown a bit of integrity. Why would you continue to support a club that wants to leave your comp for greener grass but wants the convenience of using your comp as a preseason? Maybe one day our clubs will learn to stand up to the SkyFL & their hairbrained schemes, but I doubt it, at least not before its too late....

That little episode is not quite over yet. The lad ( GB ) may not be allowed into Britain to play their games here.

I did wonder what they've been doing in that time though.
They lent tackle shields and more balls from Widnes to get through their warm up.
I think they where let down a little with Mitchell's gobbing off to the North Stand crowd and the incident on report, Nathan Wynn allegedly spitting at Loz Wildbore.
Probably the best time for us to play them really and I dare say if we went straight to France for the reverse now then the scores would be closer.
