I bet he was plenty happy with the same touch judge who, in the second half was on the main stand side, and intervened to get Leigh the penalty, that led to Adam Higson's last gasp try! They reckon that decisions tend to even out and our coach has always said that you should take the officials out of the equation - in other words, ensure your destiny is in your own hands. I would have thought Sunday's victory could have been more emphatic, had we not constantly turned over the ball, to a team that made good use of the bonus possession.

Keighley's coach was disinclined to talk about the match officials - mind you, he is serving a four match ban for 'questioning the integrity of the match officials', in an earlier game!

Touch Judges don't and can't disallow tries, they can advise the ref who may or may not act on the advice. We don't have linesmen in RL.

Not a pop at you Harold but this is a pet hate of mine - using soccerball terminology when referring to RL.

We have penalties, not "free kicks" (a free kick in RL is the tap restart after a penalty kick to touch), we have touch judges, not "linesmen".

You even hear these things being broadcast over the radio, sometimes on TV and it bugs the hell out of me. Joe Wood on Leigh Life radio is a serial offender with his "free kicks". Kevin Ashcroft used to do it when he was guest commentator on Radio Manchester. I bet no rugby union commentator ever makes these mistakes.

Think I might start a campaign for the correct use of terminology in RL.

Is 'linesman' soccer terminology now, or have they been re-christened 'assistant referees'?
