Has Derek Beaumont starting selling the MoiMoi wigs yet?
It's irrelevant, but £2k a week is also salary I was informed. As others have said, it still a bargain. Salford were interested, however from what I was told months back once Mozza agreed to play on for another year we couldn't risk another 35 year old prop on big wages and subsequently dropped any interest.
Great signing though, well done. |

I agree with Starbug and others that he will probably do us more good off the pitch than on it, but what a scoop for the Leythers, the most recognisable name in the entire RL world!!

Apologies missed the + sign after the 35 part. 
Take what you will from this, but I was told DB initial interest in MoiMoi was because it is his sons favourite player and it's also an early Christmas present for him! I don’t know how old is son is, or whether that's absolute rubbish - but what a present, not just for him but for every Leigh fan.
Also whilst there are always concerns when signing players of such an age, you only have to look at his playing record to see how fantastic it is. I expect him to rip the Championship to pieces (literally) in 2015.

Youve got the most marketable player that you have ever had, wacky hair do, wrecking ball runner and based on last years world cup the most kind and gentle bloke you could ever wish to meet who is brilliant with kids.
It is what Leigh has needed to get the interest back to rugby league in what is not exactly the most affluent area (meant with sincerity). You have a real coup there and congrats to Derek Beaumont And the rest of the Board.
Embrace it and run with it and just fall in love with the sport again rather than try to pick the bones out of a deal as you wont change it.
IMO if we get at least 3 more kids playing amateur rugby, off the back of Moi Moi signing it is already a success.
