The Watcher is stating his opinion, Mr Thomas left the club in a mess, yes AT was pumping in lots of money & we were enjoying the benefits of that on the pitch. However although it was good in the short term, the fact that Thomas made no provision to see the job through to the end (ie a bond placed in a bank so that payments could be met whatever happened, as a large builder would do when building houses) meant that we are now in a mess. With hindsight the other board members could of foreseen a possible situation of cash shortfall if Mr Thomas left for whatever reason & asked Arthur to deposit a fighting fund just in case it all went wrong.

Why don't YOU put YOUR money in to a bond?

Just a last note on tonight's broadcast. As stated earlier, it was the first time this had been tried and was very much a test on the (Leighlife) system. We had a bit of a sweat on (outright panic actually) when the radio went live and the site went down but we now know why this happened and can make provisions for any future broadcasts, and by next season everything will be hunky dory for the live match broadcasts.

I must apologise to those who could hear a bit of whispering at the beginning, apparently the mic on the laptop was accidentally left on for a short while.



Anyway I'm glad those who couldn't make it to the LSV managed to listen to at least some of it and now I've seen it in action, I can't wait till we can do the games next year.

i gained a lot of respect for eith freer and coffey, i wish i had the money to invest, als i am a poor civil servant, but if we all do our bit then OUR club has a future. Whoever that ex director was at the start, well if you have a beef with the current lot i suggest you air it at a different forum, it was not the best start, and as maurice aka neil said in his speech, if people are bothered about he price of beer/food at lsv, don't buy it then, i know i dont, and as he said it does not go to the club. all in all i came away more positive than i went in.

Agreed. I think the current board did really well and were quite honest and frank with what people had to say to them.

As for the former director, he was sat directly in front of me and all he did through the entire meeting was mutter to his freinds and rubbish everything everyone had to say.

Jonny the leythers post says it all!! He was a pain in the . As was the guy at the side of me who was ed shouting out stupid random comments . Our director were honest and I believe as a club we will come out of this major setback
