Derek is a fan (like Andy is and the other BOM are - and they are still here all doing a great job lets not forget!) the way he was handing the Championship shield around to other fans to share in the clubs success leads me to think this guy is the real deal and has the clubs and fans interest totally at heart so I doubt he'd think its just 'his club.

Somebody obviously enjoyed 'informing the printers' to do so at such 'short notice' .....wonder who that was ? I'm going for Shandy Bass !!!


When I worked at Collins & Darwell, the Centurions & Bury FC one's were printed by Wednesday, then collated/binded on the Thursday....delivered on Friday.

Very disappointed that Andy has gone but nowhere near how grateful I am for what he's done. Remember when the club was at its darkest; then Andy started posting on here, offering hope that the club could be saved. Who would have thought then that now we'd be in the Championship Grand final after finishing top of the league winning all but 1 game, running Challenge Cup winners Leeds very close in the 1/4 final and have a squad of fantastic players signed up to go full time ready to take on the Super League to win promotion next year. Thank you and congratulations for what you've achieved Andy, hope you're back involved soon.

As an outsider looking in I would say that the wrong person has gone. Andy should get himself over to Fax, Im sure they could learn a lot from him and his experience.

Whilst some liked to meet and greet, the black and white facts are it was others who worked quietly behind the scenes to save the club and put it along the straight and narrow, long before the fans favorites arrived.

Those same people have delivered a team that go to the grand final on Sunday with just one league defeat all season.

There will be no noticeable change in the running of the club from last week last month or last year. Wages still got paid today, we met the RFL at Leeds today about Sunday, contractual negotiations continue with players, the full time environment is getting the final touches put to it....all the non sexy stuff that stops us going to the legends bar on a match day because these same people are actually working on matchday.

Those same people are still here, they just don't usually feel the need to post about it.

We most certainly are all in it together, nothing changes.

Unfortunately when it comes to the workload and the investment Mish, you are 100% right but we can fully understand why people won't see that, nor should they need to because theres nothing sexy or even remotely interesting about what we do hence why we don't feel the need to tell everyone, just like when the community club partnership scheme was wtitten in may 2011, nobody felt the need to tell the world about what we might or might not implement.

Trust me mish, nothing changes...the strategic review we first did in 2012 then again in 2013 remains on target and the people who did it are still running the club.

Hence the fact the club was know for poor communication Steve particularly with its fans for many years and that overnight massively improved which is something that has been has acknowledged not only here but right across the town and community and id like to think I did the job well amongst other things while putting in five figure sums of cash in my time with the club also for the privilege.

You have arguably worked harder than anyone while I've been at the club and I've acknowledged that on here many times and I've always referred to the BOM as a whole when communicating as some people get less credit than others but that's life I suppose.
