He had his faults (turned up to training overweight etc.) but he was the one player who could move us around the field, could kick, could take on the line and make half breaks.. Something our current 6 and 7 simply don't do.

I havent seen Matauita play a lot but what i have seen he would go well in a top 8 SL club.

It isn't that straightforward. Anyone on a two year deal is quite within their right to ask for severance pay if Leigh want rid. No contracted player is going to walk away without another club to go to.
Leigh need to lower their wage bill asap and the quickest way to do so is to sell the players that are in demand. It sounds like Derek is asking for transfer fees but ultimately he will just need the players to be off Leigh's payroll by the end of the week.

A few clubs are interested in Mata'utia but there’s no way you will get £50k for him, clubs know you need to reduce your wage bill, that’s not a strong negotiating position to be in.

We are probably from the same era Harold, I have see the Wembley win and the Championship win at Haven,as well as many low points and I will never give up on them,in the past I have been involved with a fair few money raising events, only I'll health prevents me from doing more for our great Club.
I really do think events this season are a setback that can be overcome,hopefully more Leythers will think as we do and keep the faith.
