You didn't Frank, though quite understandably, I can appreciate why you would have hoped they would do.

As per last year, I am reluctant to offer any proclamation of Fev's march onto world domination. They're my team, and as long as there's a Fev I'll keep following them. BUT, I have had my heart broken by them many times - and in games of far greater significance than the one last September!!! So I am much more guarded with what I post about any forthcoming Fev game.
I have read, sometimes with a wry smile from some posters on here, (not you Frank) that Leigh will "smash us to bits" etc. And fair do's. having confidence in your team is a cracking concept.
But, I have seen all too often that making such public predictions has a bloody nasty habit of coming back and biting you right on the @r_se end!!

Not trying to stir the muck BUT....... got told yesterday that Fev are under investigation by the powers above for breach of salary cap last season........ anyone heard owt?

Well it would not suprise me, not through any intended wrong doing, but there are that many variables involved that it is bloody hard work keeping the cap in check. You start with an estimated budget and have to make a guess of how many games you are going to win, win anymore and you have problems, with employment law you cant just get rid of players to bring yourself back in line so it is difficult. Also projecting income is near imposible and again should you not meet your projections then once again law makes it hard to decrease the wage bill.

With you and barrow both having problems it shows the sytem is not working too well, and should be looked at. I would have thought that keeping to the cap this year will be hard aswell with a significant downturn in our gates. We shall have to wait and see I guess.

I agree Robin, but I dont care what happens in the play offs, I will know that over the course of the last two years I am proud as punch at the way our team has performed in the main league comp. Especially this year with the loss of Zak and Briggs and the amount of injuries. Truly awesome effort.

Jay owd cock! Every club has salary cap regulators paying them attention at some point in the season as a matter of course I believe. They visited Fev about 8 weeks ago. OK, I suppose if there was something to tell it would have been out by now, BUT, at the time I was advised that all was ok - not that I am in a position to be told owt of any note by anyone connected with the club.

So, I have to ask, who told you this pearl of wisdom??
