I certainly did.'"
I did Ste, and I must admit it wasn't nice, the lad looked upset,I'm a Ryan fan and think we should let this subject go now, rumours in today's RL press link him to Saints, HKR, Wakey, and Toronto, good luck to the lad,the same to all the other Toronto bound ex Leigh player's, let's move on we are in SL now.

We'll prepared to let it go now it's all over Charles, though I am glad he knows that a good number don't forgive his shenanigans.
In life you can't screw people over, feign innocence & offer faux veiled apologies & expect forgiveness cart blanche.
Still, it's a time to look forward now & not back ....
*apart from when I watch Super 8 Qualifiers game 5 over & over & over again*.

He was first out of the tunnel for the warm-up and the last back in. On his twitter feed he expected it and he wasn't too bothered.
Also on the receiving end of many a "Brierley, what's the score?" chants and given the way he left I think he got of lightly and I think most do still wish him luck.
I would like to say that if he'd played it may well have been a different scoreline, especially the way the second half went.

| I too will nail my colours to the mast and wish Ryan well. The farce over his exit has gone and, ironically it was probably his departure, along with Rangi's that finally got us in shape - with Josh Drinkwater's arrival, and Martyn Ridyard's spectacular surge in form.
It is worth remembering that, although our current squad members are the heroes we will remember, there are a good few other squad members who have departed, who all made a contribution to a memorable season. (including Ryan Brierley, Liam Kay, Jonny Pownall, Rangi Chase and Richard Whiting)

| Am I right in thinking that we have beaten more SL teams in the last few weeks than we actually managed to beat last time we were IN Super League?

Yes!
We beat London & Wakefield and drew with Hull, in a mid season 'purple patch' at home!

I think we ran Wigan very hard in the 1st half at Hilton Park, was it 4 tries before a reply ?
This was just following their 70 - 0 & 71 - 0 maulings at the hands of Leeds & Saints, Wigan hadn't scored a try for a long time at that point & IIRC the fans on the Mick Martyn side asked them about it.
Think there was a Leigh hat-trick too (struggling to remember the name of the Leigh player) before he was cruelly injured over their line at the Railway Road End.

| Now that takes me back, to when i still lived in blighty. If i remeber rightly should have been a scrum rather that a turnover then hull went the length of the pitch in the dying seconds, there was also a very dodgy looking conversion.
Can any other the old timers remember that when we played Bradford in 2005 that a young Sam Burgess played for them at Hilton park, somethings telling me it was one of his first games, just a thought.

Ste,I'm not 100% sure but wasn't the player who scored the hat trick a stand off called Jones?I can't remember his first name.

That's the bloke I think he finished after that season, personally Alan ,I didn't enjoy that season at all, I was on holiday when I heard the news Darren Abram had resigned, that made the holiday seem so much better, but when I look at some of the players we had,Jason Kent, Jason Ferris, Darren Fleary, Steve McCurrie, and Dom Feaunati I think his name was,it makes me think how fortunate we are now,I'm looking forward to next Season, and hopefully making a fist of the situation this time around.

Hmmmm ....
Either my brain is addled by the amber nectar or the stats are wrong (most likely me).
Anyway Charlie, the player I recall was Centre/Wing Danny Halliwel *think he represented Wales too*, what I seem to remember is a Halliwel hat trick & he was carried off at Hilton Park after a suspect & late challenge over the Wigan line, put him out for a lot of games.
The team also featured another fans favourite Jon Wilshere who was snapped up by Salford following our relegation.

No Ste , you are right, I think Danny Hall well did score a hat trick before going off injured, and I agree John Wishers was one of the highlights of that season , along with Craig Stapleton and I think they BOTH went to Salford. We have learned from our time in last year's middle 8s, let's hope we have learned from our last experience in SL.
