I remember Derek having a 'major spat' with Marwan Koucash before we played Salford in the cup that got everyone talking about the match in the days leading up to it and yet on match day they was both the best of friends and seem to have been so ever since.

That could be interesting.'"
The live salary cap in place at the moment should prevent that. The RFL want salary details of any player you wish to register, and that registration will be turned down if the salary puts you over the cap.
If Derek were to make this up with backhanders - after publicly announcing this - then he'd be an extreme fool and would probably get Leigh relegated to Champ 1 as punishment, and rightly so.
Derek isn't a fool - he's putting pressure on the RFL. |

I know DB is a passionate Leyther, but he needs to consider his position at the club. I would guess he does not carry on this way in his other business dealings.
As for smashing the salary cap, that worked well for the guy at Barrow didn't it? Where is he now? (and where are they?) |
