| Quote: reffy "Watched it live and watched it again and it is even more painful second time round. After saying that one more score would see us in Super League we self destructed, it was bloody awful. Some of the previous posters are so biased in their support they should actally watch the game, they are embarrassing; we got stuffed.
We only had to play a containing game in the second half we were winners but we were e in the second half. Defensively we weren't that bad but offensively we were awful, we could have outscored HKR and won comfortably but our left flack was poor.
Armstrong was dire, Moi Moi is a Championship bully, Hock was back to liability mode and Brierley was absent, the rest did OK but harsh decisions for Rowley & Co. Can still reach SL but today was a missed opportunity.'"
I'm not going to criticise individuals, but I think the main reason for our second half showing, was that we couldn't get hold of the ball. HKR retained it for long periods, due to creating repeat sets, our indiscipline under pressure, and our inability to retain the darned ball, when it finally came our way. Thinking back to the second quarter of the game, that's exactly how it played out for HKR, when we ran in four tries. Any team who has to tackle for sustained spells, will cave in eventually, just as we did. (and they did for twenty minutes or so) I would suggest that half-backs (both of them) will inevitably become 'absent' when they don't have a ball to play with.

| Quote: His Bobness "Thought Leigh were found out today. Several player missing from the HKR semi final team including the inspirational Albert Kelly and of course HKR's captain & most important player Terry Campese.
Yes I know you must get on with it but if Campese & Kelly had been out there....goodness. Million light years of quality better than anything available to Leigh. Even without our 2 most important players it was still 2-30 in the second half.
Before I end I would like to congratulate Gareth Hock & Fui Fui Finished Finished for extracting a final big pay check. Well done fellas.'" f
Million light years of quality better is a bit dramatic, but as you have an extra £1m budget for your players it's hardly a surprising boast. Funny how a lot of SL opposition fans have made their excuses when we have beat them or run them close.
As a club Leigh deserve a lot of credit for getting to the level they are - whether we are good enough for the next step remains to be seen. If lessons can learned from yesterday, and we can maintain the week to week intensity, I reckon we are in with a good shout.

Same view as mine Alan, just a bit more restrained on the morning after.

Good points, ColD.
We've been FT for less than a year, easy to forget the differences in resources between SL and championship.
It takes more than losing 2 players to go from CC finalists to Losing to a championship side.

| HKR were too big and too strong and fitter. 18 points in last 15 minutes. Let's hope lessons have been learned.
They are the best team in this league and will probably beat every other team so we just have to pick ourselves up and beat Salford and Wakefield. Plenty of twists and turns to go yet. I'm quite sure Leigh will still do us proud. We can still go up.
Was Riddy carrying an injury?? He just didn't look his normal self. Tom Armstrong always one of my favourite players but he had a shocker. Let's hope he's got that out of his system. Maybe his studies have affected his form. Come on, Tom. You're much better than that.

Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?: |

Armstrong was linked with us a few weeks ago. Maybe he knew what he was doing...?

| Thank you very much to all the honest and complimentary posts from opposing fans, especially the Hull KR ones. THAT'S what should happen more on RLFANS.COM
That first match lived up to what the majority of people thought beforehand about the Qualifiers - unpredictable.

| You destroyed them in the first half but were out on your feet in the 2nd half hence the number of penalties that you started to give away which in my eyes cost you the game. As Ive just mentioned on the Fax forum and mentioned a couple of times before, I think your fitness is a little suspect for a full time team. Still play like that and you are more than capable of picking up the one win you will likely need from a SL team in the other games.

| One thing about these group of players is they seem to learn lessons and they will have to.
For me the warning signs have been there for weeks now. The amount of points conceded at Bradford and at home to likes of Dewsbury is too many and when you step up a level defence wins you games or losses them as the case may be.
I enjoy the style of RL we play don't get me wrong and it's great to see but we need to respect the football if we are to pick off SL sides on a regular week to week basis rather than just a cup shock now and again IMO.
I'm sure we can bounce back next week but it won't be easy.

einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result: |

| As an outsider my views on your team are moi moi you've bought the name he's finished as a player hock showed his class in the first half but was a liability in the second half higham still a class player emmitt and Dixon looked good breirley looks a world beater when things are going well but goes missing when they aren't one of your centres can't pass like McNally but I think he got injured you certainly a good side to watch good luck next week

| Not fair to criticise our half backs, they were pretty effective first half, second half we never had the ball so they spent the whole time defending.
I have never seen Riddy do so much tackling.

| Yes we did blow that. I couldn't believe how well we did in the first half and how good a unit the lads were, the 2nd half i couldn't get my head round what looked like a different team who had lead in their boots, but i with a few others expected this game to be a loss before hand but hoped and prayed we would click and play some great RL and nick a win, i don't think we should be surprised KR came back from 18 down (how many times have our lads done that), i just hope we learn and come back with an 80 min performance, exciting game.

| This team has come a very long way in a short space of time.
FT less than a year, young players.
We haven't had many games under pressure of late so it will take time to learn how to deal with it.
We went down by 10 points to the CC finalists with a huge difference in salary cap.
We know how to compete, just need to be smarter to turn competitiveness in to victory.

| We have got to play very boring rugby 5 drives and a kick when you are 24-6 up ( imo should have been 30-0 ) The fancy stuff is great to watch, but sometimes we have to be more practical, against ANY team.

Ah, but how do you have to play to get 24-6 up against a SL team, in the first place?
