Agreed but only just and Silverwood missed two blatant decisions that gifted them field position where they subsequently scored from. Not bitter but extremely proud of my team. Bob Beswick is a hero and a legend.

No arguments from Leigh fans, the better team did win. Hopefully if we are good enough to get into SL we will have a very good chance of beating the likes of Wire, especially as we will have a significant increase in our spending power.

Your team did you proud and weren't that far off. You looked a bit knackered in the second half, which surprised me because I thought being full time the fitness would be as good as Wire. A great game to watch as a neutral and you played some really great stuff. Last point, I thought Rowley was eloquent, gracious and a credit to the club when interviewed at the end of the game. I fully expect to see you in SL next year.

Certainly a case of "if only" on a few occasions, and we deserve huge credit to score only one try less than a side of Warrington's quality, but I think the better side won (just about). Penny has taken some stick in the past, especially when he played against us for Swinton, but that try in the corner was world class and more than worthy of winning any game.

Still, I'm sure the players will have enjoyed playing on the big stage and will be hungry for more, as will the fans.

Wire's quick fire start to the second half caught us out. We couldn't quite get there after that.

But what an overall showing from the Leigh lads. Very proud of them.

Yes we are full time,but we don't get the full time intensity week in week out.

Each player might be as fit as every Wire player,but they aren't put to the test in a game situation every week.

Great effort today by the lads,and it fills me with confidence going into the middle 8's.

Also excellent preparation for the 'Middle 8's' JC. Pity we couldn't have had another couple of games against top SL opposition, before the 'Middle 8's' eh?!

I wouldn't worry about that Alan. I think our guys are capable of mixing it with anyone. I was talking to a couple of wire fans after the game and they were relieved,and then said we should be in SL without a shadow of a doubt and they meant it. Anyway a great day out and a nearly win.
