But to give you a incite to a conversation,"you going to the friendlies? " man in pub "yeah prob how much is it?" regular fan" its £16/£18 for you depending when you pay" man in pub "how much? for a friendly to watch wigan get 50,its was only a tenner for the world cup, think I'll give it a miss"
A few years ago the super league use to come and play, and the lower league covered there travel to the game, as this agreement been scraped now? meaning the lower team got a cash boost from the fixture
The season ticket price is great but I think you will have a lot of pain before the cash starts to roll in and you may have to tempt a very doubting local public in through the doors with cheaper prices than these, would have thought £10/£5 would have covered running costs and got a decent crowd in for these friendlies
Good luck with it'"
Thanks for the feedback Jeff will pass it on.
PS you think wrong unfortunately you can take it from me 5/10 quid will not cover the costs of opening two/ three sides and associated stewarding costs etc and I think it's only right I state this so when you do have your conversations in the tap rooms of Leigh you are speaking with facts from an official source rather than relaying urban myths.
Also your understanding of the lower League team keeping all associated gate receipts in some instances still applies to some games but not the Wigan fixture nor the Salford one.
Cheers
Andy

Simple fact is Jeff and what I'd be saying if I were involved in your pub conversation is if you want a ambitious strong top championship and potential SL club and team you need to get you hand in your pocket and help contribute and support it.
Cheers

I hope , I really do that people turn up for these games and the stadium is at least half full
I'll go with
I'd be happy with those numbers personally (can't speak for our FD) but would hope we can attract more to see a very strong Leigh side give a pretty much full strength Wigan (current SL&CC champions) stacked with International players a game.
Great start to what promises to be a great season for LC I can't ever remember being as excited about a Leigh team ever Lynda!

| Andy I hope you remember to calculate the expenses correctly. I understand the costs of the tannoy and screen are astronomical. That should sort out the shared gate monies!!!

Thankfully this will be the responsibility of our grumpy Finance Director and he's so tight he has a glass door on his fridge so he can make sure the light goes off when he closes it

| Re expenses at the LSV 20% of ticket costs are VAT. Stadium hire must be 10 % then stewarding costs and the cost of match officials and travelling expenses.
To have a competative side folk have to pay a reasonable price for it . Charge next to nothing and you will never watch a side able to compete with sides who currently average more than 5 times in attendances and more of our average attendances.
When you go out for a meal you have the choice of a burger at MacDonalds or a more expensive restaurant but we all know which you would rather visit on a regular basis.
Promotion and relegation will be back at the end of 2014 and imo about time too.
We have a great squad this coming season lets turn up' back them and our Board who have assembled this squad.
My view is you get what you pay for.

| The bottom line has to be that we are lucky to have a team to watch this coming season. It has been pointed out time and time again that the new BOM are running the club in a new and somewhat novel way. ie it has to run on a strong and sound financial base. To do this I accept I'll have to pay for it and will do so without complaint.
Keep up the excellent work Andy, nobody can predict the future but Im sure most of us will agree that Leigh Centurions are in a far better position now than earlier in the year, a new BOM has seen to that.

| £16/18 to watch a friendly is too dear but if the the 4 games/3 games offer was open to everybody then it wouldn't have been as much as an issue as people would have the opportunity to get the tickets at a cheaper price.

As a Leyther, you’re one of us the moment you come here to wear the shirt. I don't care where you were born, what colour you are, what religion you are, what language you speak. What he said.
I (and I suspect many others) did not buy my season ticket anticipating getting generous discounts off the ticket price of the pre-season games. I would sooner this pricing structure be available to everyone wishing to attend the games, and I fear the ticket price may prove proscriptive to non ST holders!!
With W*gan's previous track record when it comes to the strength of the team they send, you can see why many may not be convinced to part with 16/18 quid to watch us put 30/40 up their kids team.....with maybe 150 'hard-core' pie fans 'packing out' the South stand!!!

| I haven't bothered with friendlies for a while as its been a pointless expense for me , was considering them this season and may still get a ST if the club confirms the TBC fixtures or at least indicates what days they are considering playing them (ie : is it Saturday like previously mentioned or could the TBC be moved to Fridays which has been the previous boards favourite day) but in regards the Pre Season games are the costs much different than previous years as I'm sure Wigans /Salfords was a similar price last season or have I got that wrong ?

Hopefully
I was thinking the club said it was going to move some fixtures to Saturday night this season and so far they haven't been moved so thought it may be some of the TBC ones once things are ironed out with Swinton.
With a bit of luck we'll got confirmation soon or at least some news on when confirmation is expected.
