If you can show me £5000 a year of income I would support it 100%

It depends on how you can quantify the sponsorship we are attracting. Is some of it because of the exposure being offered, on the radio? (for example, are some of our exiled Leythers in Australia/Canada sponsoring us now?)Are some folks now attending because of what they have heard on a broadcast?

It's all part of putting the club's name out there, and should be marketed as such - as with the programme, media, websites, and PPV TV.

I can't believe fans are staying away, to listen to t'wireless.

I listen to it at work if I can't make the games. I reckon that's the kind of thing it's there for?

It's never going to bring in £5000 a year, nor is it ever going to cost the club a penny so I guess I'll just have to live without your support.

However, if the majority of supporters think the way you do then I guess we will stop the broadcasts. I'm past caring TBH.

The honest answer is no one has ever stayed away to purposely listen to Leighlife radio IMO

If anything it could be argued the service helps to keep the interest alive for supporters who could not make the game(s) [iregardless[/i of it being broadcast or not.

A fantastic match broadcast on the radio would only serve to encourage supporters to attend the next one in person and sample it 'live' for me.

That was the idea Leonardo. As a fan of the club it was the one thing I could bring to the table in their hour of need and though Maurice thinks otherwise, the broadcasts have been successful. We bring in listeners who aren't necessarily fans of Leigh or our opposition, just rugby fans who listen in because it's live rugby.

We, as a club, get very little air time on the BBC and as we had the facility we just wanted to help the club to build their profile.

Also it was a great opportunity for our fantastic commentator Dave Parkinson to commentate to a wider audience.

Like I said earlier, if people would rather we didn't have this service then we will stop.

Leigh Life radio is a godsend to us exiled fans. A trip to Leigh for me is a 500 mile round trip and I'm getting too owd to do that too often. So - keep up the good work!
