I think it depends on what you are looking for and what era you are from, its all subjective.
If you play march of the Galdiators to my son he will fully expect to see Clowns appearing, and to be honest so will many under 40 years of age as that what's the song means to them.
Not knocking our tradition but sometimes a theme tune moves on (I’d have it in the match day build up playlist though acknowledging our past and the fact many fans still want to here it).

The idea behind Kasabian (for example) isn’t because its a fashion ‘in vogue’ tune, its a high pumped up high tempo record, lets not forget the tune the players run out to will last for no more than 1 minute – it isn’t about playing a full record, equally (for me in anyhow) it isn’t about getting a chant going.
Its about something that stirs the crowd, makes them realise the teams appearance is imminent and makes them realise that all the waiting is over, the build up , the suspense , the excitement , its happening shortly.
The players run out and it should be one hell of a roar for them to enter the field to, in essence its something that whips the crowd up.

If you look at Sunderland (as a example) its one of the best build ups to a sporting team entering a arena in the world, and yet none of the music is for chanting to.
Its designed to make the crowd proud and get them pumped up , if you look at the backing they get from walk out to referee blowing his whistle it really does get them pumped up and carries them for at least 5 mins (if not longer) , even as a opposition fan there it made me sit back and think wow that was impressive I’d like to be a part of something like that.
Probably one of the reasons Jonny and others like minded are looking at getting our match day experience improved.

I think the ole bit is a must at some points in the game,it might get the west stand going a bit more. the rest of the song i'm not sure about although i'm sure the kids would love.

I agree with you Matt and its worth a go but like the other song you lads have tried to introduce to the NS,i dont think the words will catch on

Again it's not necessarily about having a song to sing along to, but something of a theme song to call our own and a signal that the teams are about to come out - the fact that the song and lyrics tie in very well with us is just a bonus!
