Think there's restrictions preventing advertising on Taxi's.
What we need now is Leigh Car flags sold by LISA. Anyone know a manufacturer?

Are you sure about that? Unless said restrictions apply to private hire ones rather than Hackney's as plenty of those have advertisements - there's even one in Park Inn colours.

Yes I meant the private hire ones rather than the black cabs, but I could even be wrong about those.

it was on a pie taxi, it was private hire.
you can't blow your own nose without having to get permission! or put up a few flags without a fire safety certificate ....

| Quote: glow "And on that note...
I live in a fairly short street 25 houses, of which 5 of us go watching Leigh regular, and 1 very occasionally. I’m not aware if they are already in LISA or not, but I’m quite prepared to push a form through their doors and to encourage them to join.
But it also got me thinking what about the others, not much point in just pushing a form through their doors, as they aren’t really supporters as such, but could they be?
Well to be honest I can’t see many of them going down to LSV, but would they be prepared to spend a little money in supporting Leigh Centurions for future generations and the good of the town/community?
Well if I don’t ask I wont know, so I’m going to draft up an appeal letter (unless we already have one for the wider public?) and push it through every one of my neighbour’s doors, plus the extra 15 or so on my way to the pub Friday night.
I’m not going to be greedy by asking them to sign up for £5/mth or anything (although I will make signing up an option) nor am I going to go round and ‘bully’ them, I’m just going to ask them to reply and hopefully make a donation. I’ll give them a week to reply, and I’ll let you know how I go on, but if my straw pole is successful, imagine if we could get to every home in Leigh and the surrounding areas to even just donate a few pounds per year.'"
Martin the ones Im having printed have an appeal statement on and the payment bit all on one form. Ill have them Sunday

If you mean this appeal statement from the other thread.
Quote: Dick Jones "LISA have seen the current predictument the club is in and as a result of this our aim is to increase our membership by another 1000 members.
This will give the club an extra £60000 per year.
We are aware that at the same time, the corporate club are very committed to matching this commitment.
Trevor Barton our new acting CEO says, "Im am delighted to see everyone getting together, until the end of next season, Ive grasped the opportunity and recruited some more members myself"
We ask you all therefore to sign up to LISA until the end of next season. This will ensure the short term future of the club.
Lynda Pike
LISA Secretary'"
Then I see that as being ok to existing supporters, but I was thinking of something a little bit more aimed at the general public, 100 plus years of heritage, those old enough to remember how the town buzzed in the lead up to Wembley, the importance of having a club in the town for local kids to aspire to, the good work the club does in the community, schools, supporting race for life, etc. Lets not lose it, lets support it!

The thing is Glow , whoever our ' marketing /commercial person is , should have available to him/her 100 free west stand tickets per game to selectively give out , be that as 4 seat family tickets or any other combination , all for one particular block of the West stand , so in your situation , you could ' nominate ' your street to recieve these tickets and the club could ' invite ' your whole street to one match as guests of the club including access to the great room post match
Only people who dont go would get this ' invitation ' , meaning around 1,500 people/potential new fans would get to see a game at the LSV , a place they have probably never set foot inside
IMO of course

i actually agree with you It's going to take time to attract new fans, the club should 1st offer the 'Lottery' members who pay £1 a week tickets/family tickets - (there were a few big families on the round i did who dont go to games)
Then the club should work with the fans, in this case such as GLOW. If he's willing to do the donkey work then give him around 20 family tickets to give to the people in his street (as a taster) make sure we take details from who ever we give tickets too (email, telephone, address's)

I'd agree, and it would be great if the club would make such a gesture, but I have to be honest and say I don't think many of my neighbours would ever become regular visitors, (some could if given a taste), but in the main we have got quite a good community spirit, and they may offer a donation as their way of support, so I’m willing to see what happens, with or without the tickets.

Do some have kids/grandkids ? , even if it isn't a regular thing , all it is about is creating a ' feelgood ' factor within the stadium and the community , it is after all a ' Council run stadium on behalf of the Leigh and surrounding area's ' , isnt it ?

Yes and thats how we've 'sold' the street parties etc to them in the past, and this and the importance of a community club playing in a community stadium is how I hope to sell it to them this time.
