I'd like to pay tribute to the Barrow no. 4 who stopped playing when Barrow were attacking to help Steve Maden who was spark out from the previous tackle. He was desparately trying to get Maden into the recovery position as the game continued, prior to the Ref spotting the incident and stopping play. Well done whoever you are.

Great gesture, deserves a thread of it's own.

It was Liam Harrison - a brute of a player, but a top sportsman after that. Well done Liam - top man. eusa_clap.gif

Matthew Thomason actually gave two of our many forward passes. He'll never get a SL match if he thinks there is a law about passing the ball forward! icon_wink.gif

Credit to him for once again letting the game flow - and for stopping play as soon as he saw Steve Maden's plight.

Quote: Alexs Dad "Barrow had scored 3 tries by the time we'd even had our second or third set of possession, 2 tries came straight from winning the ball from their own kick off and another from a wonky bounce of the ball from an up and under.

After we'd settled it down and got some possession we battered them all over the park. I said to Matt after 25 minutes that we'd win this and he asked me how much I'd been drinking!

I think four, or five, of their six tries came from kicks/short kick offs. Mind you, once the ball has been kicked over the height of the "floodlights" (thought they said they were installing new ones, in their SL application?) you don't have a clue where it's gone. I think our defenders and their chasers deserve a medal for getting anywhere near Rooney's kicks!

Quote: Nozzy "Beating barrow away is always tough but to do it with plenty of injuries is fantastic. Even better from 14 - 0 down. Just hope we can get a few bodies back for the widnes game!!'"

Think we were 14 down on three occasions in that first half Nozzy - 0-14; 6-20; 12-26 - but I'm sure Dave Parky will be able to confirm that.

Fantastic outcome to the game was never in doubt mind you cough cough ,no really you could see we had been caught cold and they were getting their tries off our mistakes but as soon as we showed what we could do by getting to within 10 at half time i thought yes ,if we score first in second half we are away, and the class of leigh to almost nil them grrrrr was something i will appreciate for a long time superb ,only thing was though i was a tad miffed at paying 15 English pounds to watch a supposedly floodlit match ,what a joke that lighting was ,we should all have been issued with night vision goggles !!!!! They shouldn't be allowed to play at night .Oh and i thought Madan did an exceptional ankle tap to save a try not long after he was injured and a thank you to the Barrow player that saw to him eusa_clap.gif

I'm a Barrow fan and it was a cracking game.
You are the best Leigh side i've seen in a long time and you can tell the hours you have put in pre season and you can tell with your fitness levels and some of your tries were pure quality. We could of matched you for Fitness if we didn't lose thackeray after 10 minutes when we were 14-0 and lose our hooker after 50 minutes which meant with 15 men and only 1 forward on the bench yous were always going to dominate us as the game went on. In alll I think we deserved a bonus point which I didn't expect at all I predicted yous to win by about 20 after watching yous thrash featherstone.

I'd like to meet your coach who manages to get your half backs to throw forward passes without the referee noticing because I saw 6 or 7 which the Referee and Linesman Ignored. The number 4 who helped your guy was Liam Harrison top player and IMO has been our best player this season and I thought he was our MOM.

One of your guys think it was your number 23 struck Catic with his elbow in the first half at the opposite end of the ground to where the majority of the leigh fans were standing and I believe we caught it on Video, one of our players did a similiar offence and he got a 2 match ban for it.

Yes every Barrow fan and every other championship fan will agree that our floodlites are s***e. I dont know why we dont play our games 3.00 sunday where this will not be an issue and 3 of our 6 tries came kicks 2 of which were in daylight and one was when the game was over at 26-36. £15 is alot to pay to get in to watch one of our games but I think £15 was worth every penny to watch that game.

Can't wait to plays yous at LSV should be a great game your team will be there or there abouts at the end of the season (advise your coach not to make any radical statements) e.g Garry Schofield and Matt Calland. Good Luck for the rest of the season

Quote: Alexs Dad "Well if Stu Donlan had been running at Cheltenham this week, there would be a stewards enquiry as to where his pace had suddenly reappeared from after outpacing Ballard over 70 yards
Donlans try and Madens ankle tap,two pieces of brilliance that won us the game yesterday.

I'd go anywhere and pay anything for that level of entertainment everyweek.

I have to to say that was one of the most exciting away games I've seen Leythers play in a good while & I thoroughly enjoyed the day out. If I'm honest with how we started in the back of my mind I thought this could be '09 all over again but boy did we turn it around our lads did us proud & so did our supporters. Considering our injury crisis we did extremely well & I thought Nico made the step up & showed us that he's the future for Leyth. We showed grit & determination yesterday & did well to initially to pull it back to a 10 point margin at the end of the 1st half. 2nd half we kicked on & dominated alot & undoubtebly deserved the 3 points. When Maden played on staight after waking up unconscious that showed courage & he stood up tall & claimed the ball after Rooney pin pointed him out & kicked to him as soon as he was up & walking well done Ste. Harrison was a credit to himself & to Barra for acting so quickly when Maden was unconscious to get him in the recovbery position .We definitely claimed Craven Park as our own last night with our fans behind the lads, I know I've not & I know alot of other people haven't sang that loud for a while we made it a cracking atmophere & I'm proud to be a Leyther "xome on Leeeigghhh k020.gif

An astonishing performance from Leigh. Second half in particular they reminded me of an engine running at full tilt that was incapable of being stopped or switched off.

Make no mistake this Leigh side is the best for 30 seasons and it is such a shame that the Leyth public have not noticed yet.

I would also like to commend Barrow's number 4 for his action when Maden was on the deck. A quality piece of sportsmanship which earns him admiration from me and I am sure many more. Well done lad. eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif
