The ST deal for juniors is a good deal and its a shame more can't/won't take up the offer.
The pay on the day for juniors isn't a good deal, the fans we need to attract to come long term will probablypay on the day so getting those prices right are vital.
The lost fans won't come back until we go in SL (if ever).
Its the new fans we need and unfortunatly as you say many don't know much about us and the offers we have on.
The community department is winning awards so we are doing things right and going in the right direction however theres no doubting Leigh are in competiton with a whole host of other leisure activities, watching Live RL isn't a big priority for many so the work is going to be very hard to attract new fans and we really have to keep pushing this.
We do need to look at what we do though and think of the many options available to 'sell' the club to the missing fans.
Took the nipper to Celtic v Aberdeen yesterday, payed £20.00 (a Semi Final Cup competiton).
Leigh v Quins today for the pair of us cost £21:00 with the result insignificant.
The advanatge Aberdeen had was it was a family ticket, Leigh did't have that option today (for whatever reason).
That needs adressing urgently and is a factor in peoples thinking when money is tight.
Leigh also lose out on not having a regular towncentre presence /off ground advertising hoarding.
A few weeks ago I followed a bus in Garstang with a small advert on the back that told me who Morecambe FC played next and how much it cost, on the way out of Lancaster later in the day I saw a wooden board telling me exactly the same info , 2 reminders of there game in a hour.
A lot of clubs will struggle outside of SL and its high profile , I do think though that some small gains could be made such as those used by Aberdeen and Moecambe, we do that correctly and we'll slowly see the average age of Leigh fans come down - or better our average attendances rocket upwards.
