For me, your season may well depend on your halves - the difference between a good team and an outstanding one.

For us, much will depend on our start - first six games are Fev (twice); Barrow (twice); Halifax, and Widnes. Methinks the "fixture planners" at Red Hall are having a laugh!

Really interesting views from Leigh fans....i think anyone underestimating Batley this season will end up with egg on their face. I saw them last season a few times, and seen them twice in pre-season. They smashed Halifax and the score flattered Fax as they defended heroically for most of the game. They held an almost full strength castleford team last weekend and they will offer a different threat than they did last year.
The difference is that they have added some real size to the forwards and aggression, Mennell is back alongside Handforth and Moore, the 2 best Giants dual reg players in Hodgson and Johnson, as well as Flanagan back after his ban. They will finish in the top 4 for certain. Featherstone will be up there, halifax not as strong, Barrow ?? can schofield use his outdated style of play to have Barrow in the mix ?? Tolousse have lost most of their best players ?? Sheffield will be the usual difficult side to beat, and Hunslet and York will be out of their depth. Dewsbury hot and cold but wont bother the top 6.

Hence the reason I haven't tried to predict anything , once again on any given day any team will be able to beat anybody , injuries to ' key ' players will decide who finishes where , good innit

looks a lot more interesting than the 'who's gonna finish bottom of SL' ones

In SL, half way through the season, just under half the teams will have nothing left to play for and the crowds will drop. How exciting, Crusaders wont pay their bills, Quinns will still get crowds and finish in the last 4, Salford will be keep showing us pretty pictures of JCBs, and WAKEY are doomed.
Then in Mar/April the RFL clowns will annouce that Widnes will be joining SL for the 2012 season. Also that there wont be a guraanteed place for any more teams from our leagues.

Quite right and makes you wonder why 30 % of them regularly follow our side to away games.

And because this is a prediction thread I predict the winners of this seasons Championship will not get promoted and the bottom 4 teams in Non Relegation league will see their crowds decline as they will even at Leeds and Saints. I also predict the anti competition/ambition supporters will blame it on the price of petrol and not the cost of walking sticks for old flat cappers.

One further prediction Wigan will beat you when you play them but that won't make me too happy.

If it makes Dicohead unhappy then I am happy.

Saints will beat um again like always too
