I think it's a bit of a liberty TBH. Why would they book another friendly for the Wednesday when they have known about our fixture all year? You can just see them in their meeting now "Well we're only playing Leigh so we can send them any old rubbish".
If that's their attitude then I would hope that Leigh tell them to sod off next year - arrogant pigs.

Well I agree with Alan Rowley on this one.

Our salary cap is based on projected income. We had 3 Non Relegation teams lined up. Then one is cancelled. The other one I think could have been better supported by the Leigh public and now this slap in the face by our near neighbours.

Well obviously I,ll be there because beating any Wigan side cheers me up.

I do hope however that we do get a Wigan following of reasonable proportions. It would be sensible for any Leyther who can afford it therefore to get to the game if they can.

The Wigan club however...............no comment. icon_evil.gif

I can understand why Wigan have selected the team they have, they have another friendly in a few days against Warrington in which they are going to play their main team as they did mostly against Wakefield, they are using this game to see which of their reserve/academy lads are looking to put themselves about for the first team, this game will be more competitive than Wigan sending their big guns and putting 60 on us like Warrington did.

It will be a different game to the Warrington one, in a postive way as we should win and we will hopefully have more of the ball on Sunday to see what we can really do as an attacking threat going forward. Any game against Wigan is one to look forward too and a win in Leigh's favour is on the cards and anyone moaning about missing that as a Leigh fan are crazy, IMO. Sadly I can't be there!

I know Warrington beat us easily last week but where has this notion come from that Wigans best side would do similar?

We got nilled last year but only lost by 30 something and we've got a better squad this season. Also Warrington's side is far superior to the crust munchers lol.

Running scared if you ask me lol

I suppose the problem is we've changed out coach from when that agreement was reached and he wants to do things his way. He wants to have a look at everyone before the start of the season and after our xmas game against Saints being cancelled this is probably the only way he feels he can now do that. With all due respect he'll want to see his first team players get match practice against fellow superleague opposition and with the Wire game scheduled for Wednesday he won't want them playing 3 games in 10 days before the start of the season.

FWIW i'm as dissapointed as anybody and would have hoped he'd have at least given guys like Goulding, Pryce, O'Carroll etc a game aswell as guys like Paleaaesina and Riddell who are working hard on their fitness. I don't see what the harm in that would have been tbh.

Hopefully we'll draw each other in the cup. That would be a proper game at the LSV.

Wigan's first team would batter us. They put 40 on Wakefield, without even playing well!

Don't think that it's going to be a walk over. Far from it. They will be coming here to win and will be pumped upIt's only friday and McGuire can change his mind. They will have trained today and again tomorrow. I have to say that if this is the way this fixture is going to be treated by the pies then scrap it. A lot of their fans have paid out to watch the main boys play and are not very happy.

Quote: The Publican "I have been talking to Allan rowley and I can tell you he is not impressed with this team Wigan have named. He says the price of entry and corporate was done in good faith, as Wigan signed a letter of agreement to field there strongest possible team available. This was part of the 3 year agreement. We will also still be naming our strongest side available.'"

Would that be the same agreement that said they could have 50% of the gate? Presumably we can ignore that one now?

Sue them Alan, and base the claim on the fact that they have reneged on a signed agreement the result of which will take 6000 off the attendance eusa_liar.gif . No refunds given for South Stand tickets sounds good to me too.

Just noticed too that the W£$%n Official site states "The Leigh Club have organised buses" to get W£$%n fans to and from the game.
