Leigh business's rely on Leigh folk to spend with them, I am all for informing us fans of those that do support us as my money spends every where. It was great to see the Britt so packed on Sunday, hopefully some other pubs who benefit from fans will contribute like Peter has/is.
I would rather the club said for example 'Waterfields are a sponsor, the rest refused the opportunity', as fans we walk to the counter order then walk away after asking do they sponsor us, I wonder what reaction would be next time if a big chunk of us did this. 3000 families probably spend £15m pa at local supermarkets yet I cant see any embracing us??

I agree the club should promote businesses that sponsor us, however we shouldn't be naming all the businesses that don't help.

Especially those without cellotape.

Why do you think you are entitled to free advertising?

I wouldn't have mentioned the refusal by (somebody at) Claphams 'on here' anyway I bet even some shops even turn down 'charity' posters in their window. Like someone previously posted, a rather silly/pointless topic. Maybe the Pie shop didn't get offered FREE tickets for the fun day, or are Wiggin fans !

Question from some is why should Leigh get free advertising?

In the very town the businesses are operating remains the only professional sports organisation that last year brought 4000 visitors to the town every 2 weeks. In a years time that figure might be 7k.

You'd hope ALL businesses would support that quest..

People have pointed out they have had recent major issues, hopefully that was the reason for yesterday's apparent snub which under circumstances is perhaps understandable.

Time for the towns businesses to unite...
