terrible performance but almost understandable in the circumstances..

Shambles. How is it understandable? The company I work for was recently taken over and made 35 redundancies but I still turned up and did my job every day. No excuse for it whatsoever!

Yeah I'm sorry, but the circumstances upstairs don't excuse this. The players are getting paid. The finances are in order for this season as I understand it. Good things are coming off the field. The players should be focused on the on field matters.

That said, I'm sure we'll come back from this. No danger of that.

don't agree with you saley, or Great King Rat, I have to say. Fax were well up for this..had a break over the weekend..they knew we might not be our best and capitalized ...Ellis in the news about moving to Hull, all the turmoil at the club. Heck, I have had a bit of a time concentrating on MY work this week never mind the players.

Anyway we have to move on from this, the players have earned one bad match (we did win at York so that doesn't count ...a pity it had to be this one but better that than the semi vs Dewsbury - perhaps this will be something of a wake-up call...and get people refocused..

cant think why we started hill and duffy on the bench (unless they were caryin knocks).
its been coming,hunslet we were not at our best and then york,finishing off with that performance tonight.

Don't think that had much to do with 'turmoil' at the club. We looked jaded and 'fax took us apart. Let them play, and they will! A few players took knocks on Sunday and didn't have sufficient time to recover. 'Fax had a 'rest' last weekend and looked well up for it.

Not sure whether us 'winning' the second half was as a result of our improved defence, or 'Fax 'declaring' at half time! Their ambition to attack stopped at the interval.

On the subject of players carrying knocks, I must applaud John Duffy. When I spoke to him yesterday morning (Wed) he could hardly walk. Goodness knows how he got on the pitch, let alone played his heart out. Well done 'Duufs'!

1st half was embarrassing - despite the 'off the field' activities. HALF HEARTED display, how about 'drawing a man' before you pass the ball. Fax played well, but not that well, 6-32 at HT. It really has hit the fan !!!!!!!

From the Millward interview he basically said from a playing point of view the best team won and that Fax was a very good team and he predicted it would be a very tough game for Leigh, he also said the players had been payed on Monday so they shouldn't have been affected in what was going on off field.
He said his own workload had changed and had been affected (or words to that effect, not exact quoting him) but he hoped it hadn't shown through when speaking to the players.

Yes i dont think you played at your best last night, probably no where near, you see your team every week so you would know more than me how far you were off your best, i think that even at your best it would have been close tonight, even with our bad start to the season we are still one of the best teams in the league.

we can always score points thats never been in any doubt, now we have Noble on board, you can already tell the difference in defense, we wouldnt have held 1 of them sets out on our line 2 weeks back now we can hold out 3 or 4 in a row.

were still 5 points off the play offs but if we can find a way into them then we are going to be very dangerous.

i havent seen such a measured performance by us for years, we've been more of a you score we score type of game.

now to get to that Northern Rail final and try to tick that box as early as possible

Faxtastic - I think a strong Fev side will have a say in who gets to the final.... Beating a troubled Leigh side and beating a solid Fev side away from home are totally different challenges....But may the best team win on the day!!!
