| Yeah we signed him on loan from Quins, then about a month later it was announced we signed him permanently. Who was that albino centre we had a few seasons ago. I can't remember his name.

953.jpg 2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg |
|
| Now this is what I don't get, even if our offers are low, how can the likes of Blackpool offer bigger contracts based on crowds of 3-400

| I know that, but if Morrison was given an offer but told to see if he could do better elsewhere, I don't understand how Blackpool could better the offer. Thinking about it, maybe they can and are hoping they just don't get caught next season

| It's not just about how much they draw in the pay packet. There are lots of other things that come in a contract.

Its all about how much value a club puts on an individual. We could offer Lee Briers £200k a season and put another 16 men alongside him on a tenner a game.
If Blackpool think (say) Mick Nanyn could get 300 points in C1 and win the league for them then it might be worth investing £20k on him. Basil might just see him as a reasonable squad player who is only worth £5k.
One things is for sure, our total wage bill for the squad will be higher than theirs, and ours will get paid too

| Problem is with Leigh we sign quality players TKL Nanyn Moran etc etc we don't get value for money the speccies give em grief cos they arn't tearing up the league or we sign mediocre players who arn't big names and we get nowt from em. look at Batley no big names but a cracking team of mediocre players. if you ask me it boils down to our big club mentality and the high expectations the fans have every season. Whats the answer? i have spent 21 seasons trying to work that out oh and while i'm at it the answer isn't a team of leigh lads as much as some say it is!!

| Ainscough will probably end up at Swinton, that's where he played on loan at the back end of last season.

Agreed
Since we had a handful of decent players in our SL season, there isnt one 'big name' player (particularly from abroad) who has £ for £ outplayed any of the lads we have brought through ourselves.
I'd sooner have a Ridyard over a O'Neil any day of the week even if it means being more reasonable with our expectations because we've a production line of Ridyards whilst a team full of the other is a one way route to insolvency.

The fans have a right to have their say about those because they have most definitely not tore up the league. I look forward to the young guns we have ripping this league to pieces. Under our coaching we have some excellent tallent coming through with a bit of carefull shopping we could have a young eager team that could give a SL team a scare n the CC.
Come On You Leeeeeeeeeeeeigh.
