| last night I thought it was a very poor crowd but a great atmosphere Sheffield's first try was forward, Donlan's try was a good one and we all know that the baby faced asassin hates us so it wasn't really a surprise was it anyway I can book a weekend in Blackpool now with the money I wont need to spend for the next three weeks.

| I will post for what must be the 100th time 2006 against Batley - 1800 speccies with batley bringing 300 or so - so not much difference. I was gutted last night, and Hill/Higson looked gutted.
There was more atmosphere last night than at the Batley game too. Stop blaming a system and making excuses for lack of interest - its been a downward spiral for years now. We are at a major cross roads, or not if AT doesn't continue to keep us going. We adapt or die.

| Good job you're not in Superleague.
If you win it, there's still no promotion.
At least in the Co-op Championship you have a chance to be promoted once every three years.

| I was absolutely devastated after the hooter, plenty people wandering around aimlessly on the North Stand well after the game finished last night in shock and disappointment, though I must admit I had a sneaking feeling of "thank god that's over" a) because it'll save a small fortune and b) I wasn't looking forward to the possibility of going out to the Smogs, or even doing things the Leigh way and building up hopes by getting to the major semi and then getting a tonking.

| Quote: Honest Joe "Coming off the ground last night, listening to the moans of the crowd who had been subjected to yet another poor performance. I realised that I wasn't really bothered. When we had promotion and winning the GF was paramount, I would have been devastated last night, it would have taken me days to get over it. But today, I'm just not really bothered. Nothing has changed. We weren't going into SL anyway. All it means is we don't have to suffer another match next Friday. That is the most worrying thing I think. If I feel like that, someone who has watched Leigh home and away for over 40 years, how do the casual fans feel?'"
There are many like you.
Championship games do not matter any more. It's the same at the bottom of Super League. You lose. You finish bottom or near to. So what?
There is no incentive any more. No excitement, loss of interest and loss of people going to games.
There are no longer full seasons of regular Sunday games when you either played home or away. Now we have 10 home and away leagues with a daft competion at the beginning. In the middle is thrown a 9s event. What's that about?
The authorities need to have a serious look at the decisions they have made in the recent past, otherwise the game below SL will die.
Maybe thats what they want?

| I don't know why, but maybe someone knows why the away Rochdale program from 2007 was being handed out last night - Whats that all about?
Anyway the timing could not be better because I remember this game quite well - for starters I was parked just 15metres from the turnstile (a record for me), and Rochdale had about 50 (very vocal tho) home fans (pre franchise seasons).
Now what was interesting about this game (apart from easy win) is an article in there about the impending franchises. Very interesting fair assessment, and pointing out some positives. Even the most biased person against franchises could get on board with what is written. Its under "View from row Z" if you have the program.

Are you genuinely that stupid?
Reaching the top of the sport is the dream - not being artificially held back by a bunch of corrupt morons at the RFL.
Leigh don't deserve SL yet - but maybe we will by the end of next year. But we won't get it.

| I too was well miffed at the end of the game, once at home I was asked how did they get on, so I had to reply which made me think of the game, we made mistakes both attacking & defence they did not make as many, so they were the better team on the night, Leigh finished third from top this year not third from bottom and relegation, all in all Leigh did pretty well this season all things considered, roll on next season
mon you Leythers. Season ticket for Christmas.
after 3 all start 1, 2, 3......."always look on the bright side of etc"

What a ridiculous point!
I'm sure Leeds were devasted these last 3 years winning the grand final and not being able to be promoted, how terrible for them

| It might be better if the RFL just do what they want and pull up the drawbridge, rather than having these 3 year license periods. Then the competition may go back to being a competition in it's own right, rather than being a box to tick.

Every player wants to play their sport at the top level. Ultimately laying for their country, but at least playing for a top team in the top division. Every supporter wants to see their team win the top prizes in their particular sport. No one other than the most blinkered fan would say Leigh currently deserve SL, but and it is a big but, you need to feel you can make the top, and that the rules of how that is achieved are based on fair and consistent rules. As it is the rules are not worth the paper they're written on as they are changed to suit the whims of Red Hall. The fact they have been changed between the beginning and the end of this season is criminal and downright dishonest in my book. This sport is a joke.
