I was there yesterday (and will watch the game again tonight on LCTV) and when the hand-bags came out, yet again, I felt almost deflated.

Hard rugby, tough tackles, Fui's smashes etc etc etc is what proper fans want to see. Cheap shots and ridiculous "pride wars" will catch up with Leigh as a club. One way or another, it will take its toll.

Other than Bradford, Leigh are miles better than any other side in the Championship .... at rugby league.

At fighting, and at generally missing the point, we're at the exact same level as all those teams that want to engage us that kind of rubbish.

If we'd have concentrated on just smashing Fev yesterday and just got on with the rugby - and simply laughed at their niggling - then we'd have put 40+ on them. Easy.

And that's what I want to see. A winning team that wipes the floor with other teams, playing fantastic rugby league.

That's what makes me proud.

Once again ant when you played rugby did you get up smiling every time someone clocked you round the head?? Only so much you can take before you retaliate end of! Discipline needs too improve no doubt but it did against Wakefield and Salford. The too me says it's Bout opposition and referees!!

Would you count Hock's ridiculous slap as retaliation or was it the ref that slapped the Fev player? It is time some of you actually admitted what is happening instead of being in denial. Leigh's 'tactics' are a total embarrassment.

Pushing away a player who has he's hand in the ruck Jesus nobody else has ever done that!! So many people jumping on their high horses regarding hock and penalising him for he's past!! And yes I am the other players might give more than hock but ability wise he is ahead of them all!

If someone clocked me, properly, with intent, mate, they got a mouthful, usually, but they also had to expect me to return a similar favour if the chance presented itself.

Of course fights break out (esp' in RL) and you have to stick up for yourselves, I agree, but getting drawn into the niggly **** so often is just unprofessional. Simple.

Oggy123 are u serious. We should never of signed hock, I hoped he'd prove me wrong, so far he is proving me right, he is a liability, always has been, always will.

Allow me to play Devils Advocate for both sides of the argument Re- indiscipline.

Firstly, the one for all & all for one siege mentality of this Leigh team is Fantastic (if it didn't cross any lines), it is I believe one reason why the team is so tight knit & devoted to the cause.
Not one team IMHO believes they can beat us with rough stuff, but it doesn't stop them trying & I am 100% sure that some coached instruct their teams to 'get the niggle in' & target certain players to get them sent off or binned, Barlow & Hock would be two regularly targeted.

Opposition coaches & teams know that if they give 1/2 a reason to fight, Leigh players will oblige & also know that our disciplinary record is poor. They instruct their teams to take advantage & as a result our teams discipline doesn't improve, getting drawn in time & time again.

Hock was a Prize Clown yesterday & I worry that our record & reputation for scrapping will cost the team dearly, some fans of other teams are already suggesting or calling for points deductions for continual indiscipline (don't know how that would work) but if the RFL start to think of setting an example of us (maybe heavy bans for guilty players) it could cost us a SL place.

Somehow the team & coach have to find a way of being more controlled in aggression, yet not losing the edge or the fight to the end spirit.

Fev were by far the dirtiest team yesterday & the Headbutt, eye gouging was particularly despicable & commented on by the TV pundits

In summary, Controlled agression YES, ridiculous niggle & face slapping (Hock) NO.

I don't watch our players train but they do. 26 games unbeaten and crowds on the increase says it all for me.

Frank,I think Hock is good player if he cuts out the trying to sort out all the brawls himself,I've never seen him tap anyone on the head ,or sledge them for mistakes,as you say Rowls picks the team and must see something positive in Gaz Hock ,or he wouldn't be in the 17,our pack has 2 enforcers in Hock and Barlow,2 very good hookers ,2 great workhorses in Dixon and Goulden , with Fui and Oli and Emmitt to bolster the rest,for me a formidable pack,with a few additions giving us à top class pack.This is only my opinion but a choice between Hock and Acton?Hock everyday of the week.
