I'm with you Keith, we announced Oli Wilkes as he signed off with Wakefield on Sunday and he announced to Wakey fans he was joining Leigh. Even the Wilkes signing was leaked early on to twitter by journos wanting to steal our official media streams thunder suppose its just the world we live in though the said journo has been spoken to and has promised it won't happen again.

I stated at the LISA meeting and I'm sure the people who attended will back me up it was the clubs wish not to announce signings until such time it was professional to do so as some of the players we have signed would be featuring in the play offs so its only fair to show respect for both the clubs and the players involved.

I only confirmed Sam at the LISA meeting as it was the worst kept secret in RL anyway and had been on here for a few weeks now anyway.

As you can imagine I wasn't too happy when it went on twitter Sunday evening but it's done now we learn the leason and move on.

It s always the same every year, the RFL need to act and stop any deals being registered till the season and playoffs.

btw yes ANdy did say in the Legends bar the Sunday, prior to the LIsa meeting, that we would announce some signings at the meeting, then after Pauls, request he was asked not to, except Sams as it was known to half of Leigh anyway.
Andy did say Paul thought it unfair on the players who were involved in the playoffs, so I don't understand why he announced it on Sunday to a journalist? Although.........
If the player and both clubs are in agreement ,I suppose it causes no problems

I would suggest a blanket ' no comment ' from ALL club personell, both Directors and staff until the season ends for Leigh Centurions, over the years I was on the board and since I was offered information about signings many times, I always refused it as it wasnt my concern, only the ' Playing ' Directors and coach should be party to prospective signings, that way if any information comes out it is plain where this would come from

After match interviews should be confined to the match in hand , nothing else, certainly not discussing the future of the oppositions players ,very poor form

The Barlow signing was leaked weeks ago though. Any chance that Fax played a part in that? Im guessing that given he has a year left on his contract they would have to ok any team that he signs for so they probably knew about this when it happened hence why it got posted at almost the same time as the Fev deal when he had already chosen his destination for next year.

His Super League release clause will have caused all these denials from Barlow. With the play off and internationals coming up he is still in the shop window. He wants SL clubs to publicly know he is still available to sign for them. You can't blaim the lad when he could still get a super league gig. Just keeping his options open.
