Best of luck to all at Leigh East, and I can vouch that it is one of the most friendliest clubs you can be ever be associated with.

I for one am very proud to play for the club from under 11's to under 17s. Many many great memories and many many great people.

When the sports village was in its infancy what you say was the plan ????!!!!!! That everyone moving onto the village will 'wash its own face' so to speak. Leigh East would look after their club, Leigh Centurions would look after themselves, harriers etc. etc. etc. and we all should have had 2.5% share and a seat on the LSV committee.
When the various partners where in place to move things changed, a lot of the Wigan council team that did the negotiating prior to the moves were 'put out to graze' and the LSV BOARD was formed.

Hence - Rent increases , facilities taken away , Numerous LSV staff employed , public money wasted.

So why not do what any sensible group of people would do? Put the promises in writing. Spend a few quid with a solicitor have contracts drawn up. If I promised you a nice new house across town if you were to give up the one you were living in at the moment would you just move and give me your house? That is how it seems this has been handled and why the situation is as it is now. Having said all that it is a downright disgrace on the part of the Council. I doubt anybody will drink at the bar if they did take over.

That's what we have been trying to do for the last 6 years , but get shot down at every fence as the council change the goalposts to suit them on a regular basis .
Leigh East and its members, players, spectators, volunteers seem to be taking the hit for an 18 million saving Wigan Council have to make.

your last sentence is what will happen , Leigh East have been told they will receive a subsidy on training for the next 3 years if we give the bar up and 'behave ourselves' So when our species, members etc. fail to spend money over the bar the subsidy will disappear , just like everything else over the last 6 years.

The contracts should have been put in place BEFORE the move, it is too late once the move has taken place, you have already given your home
