DJ - Am a synic, to the point where I believe that most if not all shared gates are miss-represented, unfortunately it appears to be the way of the world where clubs are only out for themselves, which is a crying shame. Please bear in mind I can still remember a time when all games where shared gates, unfortunately the larger clubs didn't like this so what happened was that for league games the home team now keeps the proceeds, so that the big clubs can get bigger to the detrimant of the smaller clubs, and for me this has got worse over the years.
For example Wigan play Saints this weekend and if Wigan win they will probably be playing again in the 1st round of the SL playoffs (1v4), now I know all the excusses will be out about the game doesn't matter (like this week to a point), it's on a Friday (like this week), Season ticket holders don't like paying (but they did for their season ticket and are generall the most loyal fans), etc. but I suspect if this scenario does happen the play-off game will have a smaller crowd than the league game, as seems to be the way with most shared gates.
Also for example attendance last night at The Shay 1203 and for the regular season fixture 2378.
As for the attendance at the Fev/Leigh play-off game next week I'll let you make your own mind up and if you want my opinon in private please feel free to contact me directly.
